No big news story on this.
If Obama did it it would've been headline news.
Trump is doing a lot of things in the first half of his FIRST term than any other President I can remember.

Trump wasn't my first pick and I don't like his big ego. I understand why he has one but he does get things done.

Yep. I think the obvious criticism of the press is they mention these stories, but under any other President, they would be having interviews with the Hawaii remains identification unit -- I think the only one of its kind in the US.  They could be covering stats and personal stories of MIA survivors.

I saw one story of a pilot remains finally recovered after being shot down during World War II. Maybe there'll be more once identifications start happening.

I guarantee if the remains turn out to be bogus for some reason, the press will be screaming about that from the rooftops of how Trump was made a fool.

Don't forget Melania would also be in the cover of TIME.

Escaped a communist country
Became a successful model as a LEGAL immigrant
Became wealthy (self, not inherited)
Speaks 5 languages (uses it when talking to children when out of country)
Has style (similar to Jackie Kennedy)
Only reason she's not on the cover is because of who her husband is

She's not been on the cover of a single style magazine...not that that matters considering most  style magazines are irrelevant.  But it's unheard-of for a First Lady to not be on a cover after this long in the position.

Quote
During Barack Obama’s eight-year tenure, Michelle Obama graced a total of 12 magazine covers.
In addition to appearing on the cover of famous fashion mag Vogue three times, she’s also advocated
national interest issues in two Essence magazine features, twice for Time magazine and Glamour magazine,
and once for Redbook, Instyle and Radar.

I think Milania demonstrates real grace by not making it a big issue. She doesn't feel entitled -- unlike some.

I call that "reverse racism".  Get on cover/job/breaks because of the color of your skin

I like that he’s doing many of these things quietly. In a way, I see it doing it with a level of honor and respect by doing what’s right as opposed to for publicly and recognition. I think many don’t see that about Trump. Outwardly, he comes off as a buffoon, but his true actions show someone who is doing many things for what I beleive are the right reasons.

Pretty much my point in my reply to Ren’s post. They get crapped on constantly for no real reason.  Then the MSM doesn’t give them credit for many things that they do right.

I wonder if 30 years from now, all these liberals will ever realize they were wrong and morons.  History will be the judge.  But I doubt any of his accomplishments will be in the history books anyways.

Like how in the Jim Crow days, do these people now feel that what they did was wrong?

I’m hoping more see the winning happening now. I do see many former Trump haters giving him some credit. To me, the positives in things like economy, job numbers, etc are proof. Just hope things can continue to improve. At least for the next two years.

I heard that since Trump has been president we have lowered our trade deficit by 52 Billion dollars. That is huge. And in such a short time. If this continues we should be able to start paying down the national debt.

I suspect most here do not remember what an arsehole and redneck bozo LBJ was.  He said and did all sorts of stuff that should have sent the media into orbit.

Actions continue to speak louder than words...

US cuts carbon emissions more than foreign nations that criticize Trump environmental policies.

If it is a meaningless threat and they know it then why would they also know not to mess with the US? Honestly, I think Iran could threaten the US again, verbally speaking, and completely get away with it because in reality Trump isn't going to do anything. I agree that it is just two countries posturing. Neither really scared and neither willing to follow through. I remember when Obama drew the red line about the chemical weapons then when it was crossed and he didn't take quick action many said it made him look weak and not able to be trusted.

I will check out Ben Shapiro's write up on this, I like most of his work.
Honestly, I think you are over thinking the words between the two countries. The way Trump (US) dealt with Syria and NoKo is how Iran knows that Trump is serious about dealing with Iran. Also, Iran has acknowledged that Trump is serious when he pulled out of the previous agreement and they no longer harass our warships in the Gulf. And they will get another helping of seriousness when the sanctions take hold on 8/6. Iran could threaten the US again. And we can tighten the monetary noose even more. We can send a carrier group to the Persian Gulf to sit on their coast. We can also place sanctions on any country that trades with Iran. There are plenty of things that we can do. I am sure there are more. The thing is that Trump wanted to make sure that Iran knows he has not forgotten about them and he is watching what they do and listening to what they say. Paranoia as a way of getting to those who have the man with the most powerful armed services in the world letting them know he doesn’t approve of their behavior.

Yep.  And the red line comments by Obama DID make us look weak -- because Obama IS weak.

He thinks a teleprompter speech is how to govern.  Say strong words, and no need to follow through if the nation you're addressing acquiesces.

Obama's Syria bluff was called, and he folded. Can't get any weaker than that.

If Iran call's Trump's raise, they'll soon learn he never bluffs.

This is also a good example of why it's stupid to advertise publicly what you'll do as US Commander in Chief ahead of time. Leave all options on the table.  Don't give the opposition a reason to say you're weak or lied.

Trump has eluded to broad actions in very nonspecific terms. We can trust he will follow through with what's necessary to "cash the checks his mouth has written."
