Meh. “Sgt Stolen Valor” Blumenthal will say it was Obama who set that in motion.
I wonder if Blumenthal smoked dope when he was in Vietnam?

Obama was the weakest president I have seen in my lifetime. Carter looked like a bully compared to Obama.

I used to think a President could only do so much by himself. Meaning that he had a bunch of advisors, checks and balances, etc. But Obama proved that wrong. He divided and weakened this country like no other. I still can believe people revere him to the point of wishing he was still President. Because he seemed polished and a good speaker? A polished piece of... Good riddance!

Isn’t that what I said in my previous post?

Don't ask me.  I'm just providing the latest news today on the topic you commented on, in case you wanted corroboration or anything.

Corroboration has been in short supply recently.   :geekdanc:

I don’t post the gory details of the economy because I am not sure anyone really wants to see it. I figured I was the only economy numbers geek here. Plus I read the Nisei report and it requires you have a subscription so I can’t really post links to it. Same with most of the WSJ articles I read. So I just sort post the readers digest version so as to not bore anyone.

Just in case no one remembers, Obama had 8 years to do what he campaigned on re: NAFTA and did nothing.

Trump fixed it in less than 2 years.

If you don't like Trump, just wait.  He'll get around to something you have been waiting for very soon.

Yeah the bump stock is disappointing.  Unless reciprocity is tied into it or some other like pro 2A thing.

People I talk to who know I support Trump ask me what I didn't like that he's done.  So now I can add talking about bump stocks.  I don't got 1, nor would I ever had bought 1, but its the principal of the matter.

Even Obama never passed any gun specific bans.  Just the Gun Free Zone.  But it's an area ban, not a ban on the tool itself.

Obama/ATF banned all Russian imports of firearms and ammunition.

Obama/ATF banned green-tip .223/5.56 ammo as "armor piercing".  They reversed it after they were caught trying to slide it through unnoticed without the required public comment period.  They said it was a "printing error."  LOL!!

Obama signed an executive order to require corporations and trusts to submit to background checks for gun transfers.

Obama directed the departments of Defense, Justice and Homeland Security to conduct research into “smart gun” technology, “to explore potential ways to further its use and development to more broadly improve gun safety.” That might sound like it's a good thing in theory, but is that what our taxes are supposed to be used for?  R&D to try and force new technologies onto the manufacturers and users of commercial firearms?

End result: each time he opened his mouth about banning assault weapons or creating stricter gun purchase hurdles, gun sales skyrocketed.  It might seem from the results Obama was ineffective, but he did make some changes and became the best gun salesman of the century.

Correct me if im wrong, but obama didnt do anything that took any gun or its components out of my hands.

The russian ban, other countires make AKs  that you can buy. Compared to full auto or bumps no replacements really.

Green tip didnt pass.

Clinton passed assault weapons ban, but had grandfather clause.

David Hogg #2 in gun sales.

Am i going in the wrong direction?

I think we have to judge their policies not on what they did, but what they attempted to do.  Obama and Feinstein tried to pass another federal assault weapons ban after Newtown.

The bill had no "sundown clause" to expire, and was much more strict than the first 10-year ban. They learned from the first one and tried to establish broader definitions of what qualified as "Assault Weapon."  The first time, manufacturers simply create "sporting editions" of the ARs that were missing enough features to make them legal.  Same firearm, same ammo, not as many gadgets.

I wouldn't wave the bump stock ban around as a major loss for 2A rights.  There's been a huge disconnect between ATF rules, definitions and functionality for a very long time.  Most don't make any sense, because the rules don't do what they intended.

I believe the ATF needs to get back to basic firearm design, create new classifications for current versions based on function, not just technical specs, and then maybe the agency would be more effective and less of a paper chase.

I believe the ATF needs to be abolished. Period.

I was somewhat surprised to hear Tom Fitton, head of Judicial Watch (the people who, via lawsuit after FOIA requests are denied or skirted, finally get all the government docs that the alphabet agencies won't turn over to Congress) yesterday in his weekly video discuss (after the  Kavanaugh situation, and Soros getting U.S. tax dollars!!) the Obama 2015 ATF attempts to de facto ban certain AR ammo (as mentioned above by Flapp). It's three years later, almost two years into the Trump administration, and they're still only getting some of the documents requested! I salute Fitton and Judicial Watch as the true "public servants".

Aren't the Saudi / 9/11 docs being released soon?

Still amazes me that in all the rubble, they were able to find the high jackers passport. #Steelmeltsat2700degrees

Out of respect, I keep my mouth shut when my father mentions his hate for Trump.

But he did have an interesting though.  Trump is afraid of Russia.  They must have something on him like either sex with another man or with a child.  Because he gets tons of beautiful women at his every call.  So it got boring for him.  So what does a billionaire do?  Go overseas and do the above.

Stormi Daniels, say Trump did have an affair with her, so what?  He's been divorced many times and is a billionaire playboy.  Nothing that big of a deal.  But sex with another dude or a child, then that's a game changer.

So out of respect I kept my mouth shut.  I didn't want to mention that if him and Putin were buddy buddy, then why would we bomb Russian soldiers in Syria?  Or the fact his admin has the most arrest for human traffickers (child sex trafficking).  Pizza gate and the Clintons and others, etc...

Next time your dad says Trump is afraid of Russia show him this article which outlines steps Trump has taken against Russia since he became president. And remind him there are more sanctions due to start in November.

https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-actions-against-russia-sanctions-2018-3

Also, in June Trump signed more sanctions against Russia for attempted hacking attempts.

Not trying to argue, just would like to make sure everyone knows the truth and has clarity on the subject.

Trump's 72 years old.  He's made and lost more wealth than most people will ever make in several lifetimes. He's got the strength of the military and the US nuclear arsenal at his fingertips and has demonstrated the will to use it.

We live in a nation and at a time when homosexuality is not considered "deviant behavior."

I don't think Trump's afraid of anyone or anything.  Some say he's afraid of failing, but I disagree.  He's failed before and has come back stronger.

** BREAKING NEWS **

A Federal Judge has dismissed Stormy Daniels' defamation lawsuit against President Donald J. Trump.

If he wants to have her pay for his attorney fees, the judgement includes a grant of that special motion as well.

Stormy is going to be twirling on that pole extra hard to make enough dollar bills to pay for her frivolous lawsuit.

We knew it was frivolous.  He can't do any more damage to her reputation than she already has!

Bill paid Paula Jones $850K to go away.  Trump may or may not have paid Daniels $130K.  Trumps a better negotiator.

Also so far 14 Americans released without paying a cent.
