So the front sight was bottomed out and still not on paper? 

I've had an upper where I was able to zero the red dot, but the irons were about 2" right when the rear sight was all the way to one side.  Triple checked, friend checked, etc.  Sent upper back to MFR and they said something was off in the barrel to barrel extension.  They ended up replacing the barrel. 

For front sight, I have the 4 and 5 prong tool, but the FSP and others are meant to be able to be adjusted by the bullet tip or fired brass.

Tough to troubleshoot with so many variables.  That's why I generally stay away from building, even my own.  I have a bunch of buddies who like building, tinkering, etc.  Some are very experienced and generally have good results, but there's always the head scratcher in there.  I mean great that folks that like to build, but just not really for me.  Mostly because I'm lazy and just want to shoot.   

I’ll be shooting pistol.  Going to test a Ruger mark IV…just installed a bunch of volquartsen parts.  Also testing a sig X5 legion that I changed the trigger on.  Hopefully both function fine.

Awesome on the Ruger MKIV.  And OUTSTANDING on the Sig X5.  Looking forward to how that works for you. 

Who is shooting this weekend?

Will hopefully make it out to the range this weekend.  Enjoy some range time after many weeks of being slammed at work.  Need to get back to shooting.  Will also need to load up some more test loads for the .308, but don't think I'll get to that by this weekend.

I'm enrolled in the Mission Bravo Defensive Handgun Course for Saturday 14 August. $200 for the day, but I'm curious and still have ammo.

I'll probably do the usual.  get there early, set up, eat my McDonalds breakfast, smoke a cigar, shoot some revolvers!
