Yeah, those classes are always "leisurely".
I broke out in a sweat trying to keep my mags loaded last time.
Gasman = Strawb Mob  :wave:

Going to pistol range around 3 today for some moving target and a couple new drills.
LR rifle and carbine/pistol transitions L8r this week.
Haha.  Yeah, I get that aspect.  The handgun class involved a lot more jamming mags since it was the "next step".  I loaded up my 6 mags right after a drill that ended up being the last.  I was so in the zone with shoot, jam mags, rinse repeat that I wasn't watching the time.

Say hello to DJ for me.   ;D

Who shooting this weekend?

Going to be doing some rifle training with a decent round count, so looking forward to that.  Weather forecast for the weekend looks good.  It's been a hot past few days though.

Lots of folks should have new mags.   :P

When getting a bunch of new mags from a brand that I have never used before, I like to test out at least 2-3.  I have a bunch of older Brownells mags, and now will get to test out the recent production ones.

did some shooting on AG land this weekend. huge plot of land
distance was 0-75 yards.  could go much further out, but since we got a late start that's what we shot at. I brought my steel target and we set up some water bottles to shoot too. was good fun to just shoot outside, draw from holster, rapid fire, etc
the Swampfox 1-10 LPVO did great!
endless possibilities for training/shooting/plinking out there
the place and the shooting was great!  roads were dirt with overgrown plants.  offraod vehicle would be ideal.  my Escape barely made it.  downside is car was super dirty, had to spray under the car with my pressure washer too.  but thats the price to pay   :shaka:

few pics of the farm
targets range from 10 yards, 15, 25, and about 60 yards so far.  we still need to clear more brush and grass to go out further.  but for up close training out to 60 yards it is really great
hopefully we can shoot out to 200+ yards eventually

It’s great you still have a place you can practice. Especially one that has no restrictions such as round count and trigger speed.

Looks like you guys have not gotten any rain for a while?

Good to have a place to practice freely. We practice safety too. Painted a firing line, no fanning the muzzle, basic safety and I try to be extra careful. And we clean up the place too, pick up our trash, etc.

Yeah, not a lot of rain lately. Good, less cutting grass

When this thread came up to the top, I thought it was some lucky person who has access to the ranges on the base.

And eventually out to 200+ yards....nice!!

Will you folks be doing center fire rifle when it gets to 200+?

That's the plan. AR, AR308, 308 bolt action is what I'll be using. See what my handloads can do a little further out  :shaka:

Wassup...
Hey if ya want to shoot at Schofield let me know. I’m a member..
In order for you to shoot, you have to register your boom booms with the base gendarmes..
Dunno if they are open though... I’ll check...

Any new optics that you're testing?  Or did you test your new stuff already?

Got here at 1115 and it's already full. I'll eat my quarter pounder and wait till I get a spot

tested the reloads. was kind of windy, 15-25mph.  the 223 55 grain fmjbt were good, better than factory federal ammo. from my small sample testing.
the 308 TMK were about the same as factory GMM 168 grain for both.  but that's pretty good since I get good accuracy from GMM anyways.  both testing done out of bolt actions, might try out of AR platform next.  and try the SMK 223 bullet next too
