Sighted in my optics already. The Swampfox 1-10 lpvo, holosun 510c and 507c.
Testing the 223 and 308 reloads today
Got here at 1115 and it's already full. I'll eat my quarter pounder and wait till I get a spot

tested the reloads. was kind of windy, 15-25mph.  the 223 55 grain fmjbt were good, better than factory federal ammo. from my small sample testing.
the 308 TMK were about the same as factory GMM 168 grain for both.  but that's pretty good since I get good accuracy from GMM anyways.  both testing done out of bolt actions, might try out of AR platform next.  and try the SMK 223 bullet next too

Awesome!  Have been meaning to test my LPVO upper with a bunch of better ammo.  Have had the ammo for a while, but COVID and also have been just so damn busy.  Hopefully things are settling down, so will be able to make it out to the range again in the next 2-3 weeks.  Seeing some folks with nice new shooting gear, feeling the shooting itch coming back on.  Hopefully it doesn't result in me buying something, like oh a Viper 1-10x

1) Always keep the muzzle pointed in safe direction
2) Be aware of what's going on around you.  If you have questions, ask.
3) Have fun and enjoy shooting!
4) Post pics of your new guns.
5) Report back how shooting went.

Got there at 11:40 no wait and plenty benches open.  My goal for today was to atleast get it on paper since I’ve never shot a rifle before.  Overall it was a good day.  Everyone just having fun and staff super friendly/helpful.

Who is going shooting this weekend?

Thinking of heading out to the range later this weekend.  A new rear sight came in for my "main" AR.  Also want to finally get to testing with my LPVO with the better ammo.

I have a new upper on the way, but that won't arrive until middle of next week.  Damn shipping must be by Forrest Gump running that sucker here.

Who is going shooting this weekend?

I was planning on going on Friday.  A new upper I ordered recently came in yesterday and I was going to zero it, as well as either shoot another AR that I am changing the rear sight or do some testing with my LPVO.  Then today, a manager from another group called a meeting for 0930 Friday morning   :grrr:  Maybe I'll head out after the meeting, but I was planning on a lazy morning before heading out to the range.

I went today. I shot my High Standard Military 107 Trophy that I inherited from my father when he passed. I had some problems with it today. Some lead built up in the chamber and I couldn’t chamber any rounds after about 120 rounds. When I cleaned it I scrubbed the chamber pretty good then did a plunk test (dropping a round into the chamber to make sure it plunks all the way in with gravity). Turns out I needed to scrub a little more because it did not go plunk when I dropped the round in. Finally got out the little ring of lead and all is good now. High standards are finicky about the magazine being adjusted properly and the type of ammo used. While I was firing it I thought of all the times my father would take me shooting.

After I was done cleaning that gun I finally got out my WWII High Standard and finally cleaned and lubed it so I can finally take it out and see how it shoots. It needed oiling bad. It was in dire need of attention. I can hardly wait to take it out now.

So when are you going to sell me your High Standard?

Are you going to be "testing" for resistance to bullet impacts?  :hmm:

:hmm:

I still have to get the springs replaced and shoot it.

But, if someone were to offer me like $1Mil, I'd consider it.   :P

hopefully not.
It doesn't look like the stand is super sturdy to withstand hits, but its large enough I don't think i'll hit it directly

or I might go pistol and shoot the mark iv, and test my 357 reloads
either way its better than doing yardwork

Haha.  It's a running joke with my shooting buddies that I want to shoot all sorts of things to "test".  Old plates, car doors, etc.  I want to shoot it.   ;D

Yeah, a day of shooting >> a day of yardwork.

Those things are a lot more interesting and fun to shoot at, lol!

I wish there were some way we could shoot at 2 liter soda bottles, 12 oz soda cans, watermelons and cantaloupes.  Oh and bowling pins.

Why should Hickok 45 get all the fun........ ;)
