I have zero interest in that venue/event.
I own three guns that might be competitive there, but I too
am not into being a sniper.
My favorite is Rockchucks at 400 meters in a field in Idaho.
That is fun. Plus the farmers love you for it.
Rockchucks really mess up the Alfalfa, crop.
All my other stuff is oriented towards urban environments.
Crooks and cops.

sounds like you had a good time shooting  :shaka:
It was aweome!  The instructors, the range, as well as got to shoot with a bunch of like minded Americans.  Became good friends with a crew of maybe 8 guys from Ohio and Michigan that frequently shoot and train together and it shows.  The loss of range days in the action bays for me leading up to this class showed  :(

Uh, you're missing the point. . . and it has nothing to do with being not tactical enough. . .

Marksmanship was a key aspect of the class that I attended.  Interestingly, one key course of fire, which included a competition for swag was conducted on B8s at 25 yards.  Both careful fire and under time and pressure.  Interesting impacts on performance.

Didn't watch (yet), but those words are famous or made infamous.  As a side note, look at who actually used their pistols in gunfights.  Or at least as documented in history. . .

Sounds like this was an intermediate + level type of class. How do they qualify you prior to tkaing it?  Like u dont got a noob who can't hit a B8 at 10 yards, but knows how to manipulate the gun well.

Not really.  No prerequisites, but there weren't anyone there who didn't have prior experience.  There was one guy who left at lunch on Day 1, never to return.  Didn't think he was doing bad.  But yeah, if you can't make consistent hits on an A-zone at 10 yards under careful fire, you're not going to get that much out of the class.  As well as likely be "that guy" in the class.  I was partnered with a guy who was struggling early on, but even he was WAY better at the end of the class.  Mark of excellent instruction, where there is marked improvement, no matter the starting point.

For you?  I say "save your $$$"  :P ;)

With the $ I lost in Vegas last week, I could have bought a Stacatto P and put Trijicon RMR on it, and had money for ammo and mags.

From my past experience, courses usually list prerequisites and what they will cover in the class and you have to determine if you meet those requirements.  I watch and read reviews of the course and talk to people who have taken the course before.  I'll typically start prepping 6 months prior and ramp up to the point of shooting practice twice a week the month prior.

The first day of class is the hardest, but on the 2nd day you get warmed up, acclimate to the environment and implement things you learned the prior day and all is better.

Point of taking a class isn't necessarily to get a certificate or win a shootoff, it's to do the best you can and learn from it.

shot the latest AR build for the first time on saturday
Aero Precision lower. Veriforce Tactical upper
Rise Armament 140 trigger, Magpul MOE K2 grip, Strike Industries Mod1 stock, Strike Industries enhanced bolt catch, Spikes Tactical trigger guard, Aero Pro bcg, Aero Breach large CH, stainless sub-moa barrel, micro compensator, Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 LPVO
very pleased with the results
top pic is with Nosler 77 grain .223 HPBT
bottom is with Black Hills ammo 75 grain  .223 HP match
Black Hills were a little better, but would need more rounds to be sure
bulk Federal 55 grain was not quite as good accuracy. at least double the group size of the match ammo

A lot of my co-workers and my BIL is like this.  When they ask me how I'm doing I tell them I'm down for the trip.  They go "What?!! Didn't you win?"  I go yes, I did.  It's just that I lost more than I won, something you need to come to terms with.  You are in denial you poor foolish dumbass for a man.

edited to add:  I hope KHSC opens up again during the weekdays.  I like going on Wednesdays.

I took two coworkers out to khsc pistol range this weekend. One was trying to do better on qualifications and the other is trying out for an armed position on the mainland.

Both started with a shotgun like 30" group at 25 yards.  After an hour and a half I got them down to almost a sheet of paper size group then worked on speed.

Pretty good

Were the RO's pretty good about when you guys started to work on speed?  How fast were you able to practice before they get all bent out of shape.
