Me and my wife were fortunate to get our fingerprinting portion done in the shop. Here's a suggestion, is it possible to utilize 1 of the conference rooms upstairs to conduct the screening of documentation and have an ACTUAL table to do the fingerprinting? While standing outside Prime Sports, neighboring businesses were concerned that their doors to their shops were being blocked due to the line that extended down the walkway. Customers had to maneuver thru the line to get thru to where they were going.
I would have to say in my honest opinion the ladies that were doing the fingerprinting could have done it better. Agencies that require fingerprinting cards done the old fashioned way with ink pads have strict standards on the way it is conducted. The print NEEDS to be in a BLOCK pattern, meaning that the finger(s) need to be "rolled" edge to edge on the ink pad then "rolled" edge to edge on the card. The ladies were lifting the ink pad to the finger(s), rolling the finger(s) and then using a white block "peel & stick" type method (rolling the finger) and pasting it to the fingerprint card. Looking at the result of doing that may cause most of the cards to be rejected by the investigating agency as the latent prints are NOT FULLY or PARTIALLY "blocked" as required.
There is an actual LATENT FINGERPRINTING KIT that is packaged in a "tool box" with everything you need to conduct the process.
I just hope that none of the prints that were taken yesterday are "REJECTED" and the application process goes smoothly. If there are ANY REJECTIONS WHATSOEVER, what is the FINANCIAL recourse of those patrons that "PAID" for the service?? Can the fingerprinting be done....FREE of charge due to the prints being REJECTED the first time and conducted in the right way?? or REFUND of money paid for the fingerprint service.
Any future events like this should be carefully planned and executed to prevent un-necessary confusion and extended wait times.
Assigning "times" to return to the shop won't resolve the issue, it won't help the wait-times. Because of the unforeseen numbers of those that participated yesterday were large, perhaps by utilizing the conference room upstairs , find out the capacity of the room and take that number, for instance....let's say the max capacity of the room is 50 personnel, minus out the personnel assisting with the service let's say 6, so 44 people can apply for the CCW for that given day. Use social media....FB, IG and other platforms to reach out and take 44 reservations that PREPAID and done. The conference room will provide a closed environment to the public, less distraction and interruption to neighboring businesses. It'll also provide a definite number of applicants that will be processed.
