Just a peak what freedom is.
« on: August 18, 2018, 05:39:10 PM »
Georgia. (This post is not meant to brag but for some others to realize Hawaii is not a free state)

Walked into Probate court.  Showed them my Georgia drivers license and within 20 mins my CCW application was done.  2 weeks later I got my permit in the mail.  No class, no wait, no BS from the police department.

I ordered a Canik TP9SFX on Tuesday online.  Gun arrived today at the FFL.  Paid $20 and because I had a CCW there is no background check.  I still had to fill out a 4473 but here in the state of Georgia if you have a CCW then your background check is already completed.

Literally took 5 mins.

This is the way all 50 states should be even though I think the 4473 and the CCW is an encroachment as well.

Yabbut, unless i was over a gas tank of gas away from Atlanta, do not feel I would be comfortable in Georgia.

Or any mainland state, in proximity to a city with inner-city types, for that matter.

I left Hawaii in April 2014. I received by Washington State CPL (concealed pistol license) at the end of July 2014. Took less than 3o days to receive it.

Most of the mainland is pretty isolated, obviously the major cities can be huge but there’s still a ton of open space in most of the country.

VA does require a class for a CCW but it typically only covers the laws surrounding concealed carry. I do miss being able to walk in and buy any non-NFA item on the spot though, as well as getting bulk ammo shipped to your door and carting just about everywhere.

Augusta and the Central Savannah River Area is about 1 million people but that is spread out.  I live 45 miles West of Augusta so I am not near anything.  Still about 2 hours East of Atlanta.  When I am on my property the only thing I hear are the whispering pines.

I had a CCW license in WA state for about 17 years.
After the recent North decision I applied for a Concealed carry permit
as I live in Hawaii county.  I really don't want to open carry as most Hawaiians
are really not too bright and will call 911.
I have been ignored by the top cop that has the "right" to rule on a permit.
I will file and testify before the police commission to get a public record
and then file Qui Tam on USC 18 section 242.
I will get a lawyer on speed dial and start to open carry.
Hawaii gun laws are un-constitutional, just because there are
only a few of us  of us doesn't mean we have to accept the tyranny
of Democrats.  I'm going to fight. I'm going to obliterate.
Above all I will be able to defend myself from the Hawaiian
Government.

Thought about buying a rifle in Vegas.  Fill out 4473 and wait 3 days.  And here you go.  Only need to be a local to buy  a handgun.

But with double the tax and the fact that I have to buy or bring a rifle case make it kind of humbug to do.

No wait time in Vegas for any firearm purchase. Handgun or long gun. The State made it so Clark County had to repeal the 3 day wait period for handgun purchase and registration requirements.

And you can pick up a fairly inexpensive long gun case at Bass Pro or Big 5. The other option is to buy a Pelican or similar suitcase size case as your luggage and keep a lock in it.  If you buy something, you have your hard sided lockable container with you anyways. A broken down AR will fit in most of those cases.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

Wait what?  Oh hell yeah.  Gonna buy a pistol next time we go at the end of the year.  I already carry mine so I can fit 2 inside my pelican.

*edit, still need to be resident to buy handgun, but rifle no need.

Did you read the context of what he wrote?

He stated that "most Hawaiians are really not too bright."  Hawaiians are a race of people, and he categorized most of them as being stupid.  In my book, this would be considered racist.  Or he could be saying that residents of Hawaii (not Hawaiians) are dumb.  Which would mean that he categorized residents of Hawaii as a race of people (Hawaiians) which would be ignorance, or stupidity perhaps?  I give the benefit of the doubt and go with ignorant because I don't think he is stupid.

He then stated that "Above all I will be able to defend myself from the Hawaiian Government."  So either some false "Kingdom of Hawaii government" is out to get him, which he could think to be true, but there is no recognized "Hawaiian Government," even among Hawaiians, so he would be incorrectly categorizing the group of Hawaiians that are out to get him.  Or the State of Hawaii Government is out to get him.  Use the same logic applied above.

I know he might say this is mincing words, but frankly, as a Native Hawaiian, I could easily find offense in his comments.  If it is racial in nature, it should not be accepted on this forum.  If it is ignorance, I think it is pretty self-evident that it is acceptable here.

That’s an impressive fan theory but I’m willing to wager the original author just has a few plot holes and inconsistencies in his story line that you’re assigning a whole lot of extra meaning to.

Rather than jump all over him why don’t you politely try and sway him to your side?  Being “one of the good ones” can be a good stepping stone for improving the perception of any group (like gun owners for example.)

But Rapback awaits your return.

This!!

So I was on a gun buying spree before Rapback. As soon as it was in effect I bought zero.  I bought 80% kits, seven of them, and never touched them until I got back here.  I have also bought two firearms since arriving back in Georgia.

I am sure the gun shops over there have suffered because of Rapback as well.
