We have someone who picks up on such things. Others are seemingly hooked and released on phonics. As if they type how they hear things...  ;D

Apparently I have been stirring things up a bit on Facebook. Every time Civil beat posts something not in favor of the TMT I comment and people get bothered. I am surprised how many likes my comments get though. I think the protestors really are a vocal minority.

I know they are and the state of Hawaii is afraid of them.

just like the SuperFerry. Awesome idea. Killed by a small group. We lose. Now we pay hundreds $$$ just to go to neighbor island. Mind as well go mainland for vacation.

^^^^This, when the wife and I first met, she wanted to go to outer island for vacay.  Told her a weekend will cost us prob about $700.  At the time, vacations HI had a 5 night for $400 per person.  Including meals.

Then she wanted to go to Turtle Bay instead.  Still cost would have been $700 for the weekend.  So we waiting and went to Vegas instead.

Actually it usually takes more than one telescope to determine the parameters
expressed in the video.  Telescopes all over the world with different capabilities are
used to characterize such a finding.
I've always viewed this hunt for life outside of earth as a waste of money and talent.
It is all about trying to disprove the existence of a "creator".
Statistically if you buy into the Science that life  developed from a "primordial Goo"
life will be everywhere.  But what good is that when,  with the present physics we
know about, that life, is so far away, in time,  that it is, irrelevant.
I'm not trying to get religious here.  I made a very good living working on Mauna Kea.
I think that their work should continue, as long as I don't have to pay to support it.
But it is as much BS as the "Sacredness" of a rock in the middle of the Pacific.
Money talks and the whole thing is about money.

Wouldn't be a false alarm if a few tents also happen to be on fire.

Hypothetically, of course.
