Love or hate the democrats, it does not give you the authority to ignore US Laws passed by them.  The fact that you do makes you a criminal under US law.

Moreover, given your disdain for those actions taken by the legal US Government you don't like, clearly shows how subjectively biased you are when discussing the legal status of Hawaii as of 2019.

Since when are Resolutions considered "US Laws"??

You will never get a large group of individuals agreeing 100% on how something should be done.

Never were, never are.  Congress passes all sorts of partisan "resolutions".  Most are just political theater and barely good for a laugh.

Certainly does not have the rule of law behind them.

True.  Not everyone agrees wood stocks are best.

I am certainly glad you see and recognize that.      :shaka:

Hawaii was illegally annexed by a JOINT RESOLUTION by Congress in 1898 (i.e., the Newlands Resolution), which is the violation of the US Constitution I always mention in my posts on this topic.  Acts by Congress only have jurisdiction within the domestic borders of the United States and its territories, which means they can't draft legislation to annex anything outside of the US.

Consequently, the legal ramifications of that resolution based on US Constitutional Law is that the annexation of Hawaii in 1898 was ILLEGAL and the continued US presence on the islands is an ILLEGAL OCCUPATION.       :geekdanc:

LOL!  How many positions are you going to take on your own issues?

First, the Clinton Apology is "US Law", and Puna is a criminal if he doesn't abide by it.

Now, you want the annexation to be illegal because it was a resolution, and because the US ABIDED BY IT!!

Amazing.

RE: "da shack" and that poor flag.

First of all, those idiots deliberately attached wood pieces over the flag to make it difficult to remove.
The cop with the saw was trying to cut the wood off the flag, not destroy the flag.
How respectful is it to nail or screw wood over a flag?

Secondly, da shack was disapproved by the elders or whomever is leading the protest movement.
The reason was that "they" (the leaders) WANTED TO MINIMIZE THE FOOTPRINT left behind by the protest activity.
The end result was that the aina was disturbed MUCH MORE than necessary by constructing the illegal shack because the state had to bring in heavy equipment to remove all that crap.
And by the way, everybody knows that da shack, AKA "keiki learning center library" was bullshit. They knew it, the news reporters knew it.
What parent in their right mind would let their child go into a makeshift structure like that?

So now what you have up there on the mountain are rebel factions forming with conflicting ideas on what should or should-not be done.
And idiots on Oahu who really just want to attract attention to their shiny F150's, Tacomas and Silverados by obstructing traffic on a lovely Sunday morning.

--end of rant--

Add in the fact that everyone there knew at least a week in advance it was going to be demolished,  but still left it up and left their flag there.

I don't care if the building was being advertised as a children's library, a strip club or a cancer research hospital.  Without proper permits, it isn't legal.

I bet the TMT has all its permits.   :geekdanc:

In my subdivision, 40% of the houses no mo permits.  How do I know?  I went on the county website and see
lots with houses on them listed as vacant lots and no building permit issued.  These houses were already
there when I moved here 5 years ago.  Probably the same through most of Puna in areas not heavily populated
and are divided into larger lots.  People just build way in the back where no can see from da road.

Mo powwah to dem an ainokea wat dey do az long as no bahda me.

No, that my friend, and the obviously illegal blocking of a public roadway, is "law and order" under the law of the kingdom of hawaii according to both the deluded moronic imbecilic clowns running the actual "demonstrations" and the cowardly imbecilic clowns supposedly responsible for "law enforcement" by the illegally occupying oppressive government.  And you ain't seen nothin' yet, should the superstitious racists actually ever get a chance to impose their stupidity via force of law.
