Watched the episode of American Rifleman TV in the Python

- Colt’s project to bring back the snake series was called Ford Mustang. (Hey Stang!)
- Holsters that fit the original will fit the new guns.
- Gunsite rangemaster’s opinion is that new Pythons are an improvement from the original (grains of salt added...)  Seems like the trigger design is all new and smoother DA pull

Seems like a solid gun. Can’t wait till Stang gets his!  ;D

I watched this last night as well. I am convinced I want one. I still want to handle one and maybe shoot one before I buy. But considering how great the DA and SA trigger sounds I need to see/feel one. The highly polished finish looks terrific as well. After I move I will need to seek out all the LGS around me so I can find one in stock.

I envision the 4.25” barrel version to be part of my OWB carry rotation along with my S&W Model 10 and Ruger Speed Six. I’m still thinking about what I want for pocket carry.

My favorite revolver cartridge and one of my favorite overall revolver cartridges is the .357/.38 Spl. Except for the .45 Colt cartridge, there is no more versatile cartridge available for purchase and for us reloaders to experiment with. There are so many different flavors being loaded in commercial ammo. And the .357 Magnum is a proven self defense round. The FBI has a tremendous amount of data on the .357 stopping power. Adding another .357/.38 Spl to my stable is a no brainer.

I always take the feedback on that show with many grains of salt.  That said, they don't interview the Gunsite rangemaster guy very often and his feedback seemed quite genuine.  I also liked what the Colt reps had to day.  Yeah, their sales pitch and stuff, but I liked what they had to say.  I'll wait until more consumer level reviews come out, but the Hackenthorn video was pretty good.

Personally, I want one.  That said, there are lots of stuff that I want.  :(  Add and SP101 in both .357/.38 and 9 mm.  I'm well into the "nice to have" realm of firearms.  But always thinking of the practical side of things (I will shoot all these guns) as well as value, both $$$ and show off.   ;D

And you make like you were on the fence about getting one. . .

I would like 1 in stainless, and 1 in blue, but the Cobra comes in a Night Cobra with DLC coating not blued. I'd rather have stainless than DLC. But hoping they do a blueing. Or maybe some specialty place like lipseys or Tyler gun works will do a special finish job, but that's just wishful thinking.
I'd rather get the 6 inch, but I would be more than happy with the 4.25 inch too
