I have a couple of S&W revolvers with trigger work done by a gunsmith. There is definitely a big difference between these triggers and the one on my 627 Performance Center revolver. That trigger is nice, but the worked on triggers are great. I need the Python like a hole in my head. But to own one is a luxury for me. I’m thinking of it as a retirement gift to myself. I would still like to own an older model in blue and walnut. I’m just going to see how things work out I guess. Who knows?

I think having your trigger jobs done is an excellent choice. For me, it makes them more enjoyable to shoot. And this will give you time to think about whether a Python belongs in your safe or not.

me too, I don't need the Python, but I would really like to have one.  I don't want to spend upwards of 3k for an original one, its not that important to me.  since the new ones are more "affordable", then I really wanted one
now seeing these issues, it kind of killed my enthusiasm for the Python.  it moved down a few spots on my list of firearm things to get.
I enjoy tinkering/upgrading firearms, as well as other things, so i'm looking forward to how the triggers on my other revolvers turn out

I was already in wait and see and the recent feedback might extend that much longer.  Maybe to the point of killing interest as well.

Could explain the problems. But Yankee Marshall doesn't like Hickok45, so video may be one sided

That younger guy that had problems didnt seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer either

You mean the "light primah strahkes" guy"?

Yup, they were some interesting hillbillies for sure.  But seriously, while I think some of that video was the guy short stroking the trigger, it seemed like there were some problems.  I also expected some level of hate on the Pythons and people shitting on them for no reason other than they are "X brand" fanboys.

Sad though.  Will see how it was perceived at SHOT, but the excitement for me has faded away. . . :(

and that younger guy kept on pulling the trigger even tho cylinder wasn't turning and rounds weren't igniting.  not the safest practice of shooting a revolver.
but it did seem like something is wrong with the gun

I can't stand yankee marshall. He does a lot of whining and shit talking, and it's his way or the highway.  He's the definition of an attention whore.   Unsubbed from him years ago.  Hickok was singing praises through the whole vid before it broke.  YM is a nincompoop IMO

I posted the photo but there is a guy on FB that bought a new Python and opened up the box and it is missing the frame screw on the right side.

Wow, that is horrible....  Sad

I once took a look at one of those new production m1 carbine at a LGS that had a crown that looked like that.  I asked them what the price was, when they told me IIRC $1400, I laughed at them...

Warmed over nostalgia does not fail to disappoint once again!
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

retail is now over $2k.  that's out of my range for a Python.  if its this much now, I think I have better things to buy with $2k
