HPD press conference for mag ban
« on: February 26, 2020, 02:34:24 PM »
HPD had a press conference today to gain support for the gun control bills tomorrow, using the deaths of their two officers to push their agenda.  Backed up by legislators Rhoads, Lee, and Takayama.

They never did something like this before and are in panic mode.  Your efforts are paying off.

Currently only on FB, check the Hawaii news now website later.

police are there to enforce the law , not lobby to change laws.
shame on HPD and the stupid Chief of police for being politicians

not once did HPD tell the public that they have the right to defend themselves in their home or at their place of business with deadly force if necessary.  the only thing that they say is "call 911"
911 is a joke!!!
you need something to protect yourself until 911 arrives.

thank you HIFICO for all you do!   :shaka:

Our tax dollars hard at work in eroding our rights...
https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2020/02/27/police-chief-makes-public-plea-lawmakers-ahead-votes-tougher-gun-control-measures/

He may have illegally obtained the rifle and ammunition from a gun collection possibly owned by Cain’s husband, who died in 2005.

One of the bills being considered close that loophole.

Something that is already illegal ("Jerry Hanel MAY have illegally obtained") is considered a "loophole"? And everything is speculation since all the evidence was destroyed in the fire.

“When a gun owner dies that estate doesn’t close until the police certify that the firearms in that estate have been properly transferred or disposed of,” explained Representative Gregg Takayama, Chair of the Public Safety Committee.

Private property is PRIVATE.

Gregg Takayama, Chris Lee and Karl "Toadie" Rhoads don't represent the People anymore...nor does HPD Chief Susan Ballard. All they want is to turn us all into victims so we can rely more on government.

Private property is private!

This should set off all kinds of alarms for everyone.
What I have in my estate is none of hpd's business.
I doesn't matter if it's a gun, knife, or dirty underwear.

Dude, THERE IS NO SUCH THING as "private property" in communism (currently frequently and lyingly referred to as "democratic socialism").

Guns are just the first item to be subject to confiscation for "the greater good". If the inherent racism, income inequality, social injustice, etc. are to be rooted out of the inherently corrupt free market capitalist system all objects must be subject to total control/confiscation/elimination by our betters/comrades. Earth and people-destroying things such as cars, factories, etc. that depend on fossil fuels must be eliminated, etc. And... you think that's your money?

I heard a rumor that the two officers at the diamond head incident were killed by an 2-shot elephant rifle. So how is a magazine ban relevant to that case. :wtf:

Interesting.
Most Holland and Holland rifles start around  $12,000 and go up from there; and the ammo is $10 to $40 each shot.
Holland and Holland are the only two barrel rifles that come to mind.
A Barrett Light 50 is only ~$6500 and $5 per shot, in Semi Auto.
A horrible waste of guns to give to the HPD.

I'm just guessing, of course, but they might put a serious effort into banning "assault weapons", because... they are battlefield weapons of war that have no place on our streets nor in civilian hands.

But... given that they are all liars and ignoramuses, I wouldn't be surprised by anything they come up with to fuck us over even more than they have already. They won't rest until we've all been disappeared or assigned to re-education camps. That's what they do. See: Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, etc.

Why is HPD acting like a wing of the legislative branch? Not only are they writing bills but they are running press conferences with law makers and rolling twenty deep in black limos to hearings wearing full uniform. Did they take time off the clock to work on activism for the past couple of days? What would happen if some rogue HPD officers showed up and supported concealed carry wearing their uniforms and on duty? How would that affect their careers?

These and more valid questions were brought up today.

It seems like we have clearly stepped into impropriety territory and if there are restrictions for non-profits engaging in political activity then it definitely seems like there should be limits for unelected socialist institutions.

We need a real Sheriffs Department. This Homeland Security gestapo crap has gone too far.
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

Interesting, perhaps a question to be asked before the police commission....

A horrible waste of guns to give to the HPD.
I would bet some large $$ that those guns go into some cop's collection as soon as the heat dies down.

They probably have to do whatever they are told to do by the Mayor. Lots of government departments will put input or request laws be made or altered.

There is probably some internal policy that prevents individual officers from speaking on behalf of the department so the officers could get disciplined. If they came on their own time and explained that their opinions are their own and not representative of the department then they could not be disciplined because they have the right to free speech.

I wonder what would happen if they publicly stated they could not, or would hesitate, to support a particular firearm law because they believed it may be unconstitutional? That would be a little different situation where they could say something publicly and have a defense

Yet, those other "government departments" aren't enforcing the laws they push to be enacted on the public at large while enjoying exemptions for themselves.  Are the Cops really convinced (with no evidence) that these laws reduce crime, or are they merely trying to make sure they are more well armed than "We, the people?"

If police department "brass" are going to act like politicians, perhaps they should be elected and serve in cycles like politicians.  (WITH TERM LIMITS!)

Can we suggest a bill for that?
