I was talking to my nephew in AZ last night. He said people are panic buying ammo and stores are out. I googled it and it is true. Not just in AZ but all over the country. So I decided to order some .22 ammo so I’ll have when I move. Guess what? Big run on some types of .22 ammo. In particular I found CCI Standard Velocity was not easily found. And what I could find was either only a box or two left or price gouging going on. I found one place with 800 rounds in stock so I ordered it right away. While I was in process to order, the price went up from $6.00/100 to $6.25/100. Not a huge jump, but still it went up mid order. The only companies with any large stocks is asking $8.00/100 or more. Or the places that don’t charge a flat fee shipping still had. I also bought some CCI Blazer .22 which is another fav of mine. The companies that I looked at still had some quantities but I saw the price go up over night from $0.037/round ($18.50/brick) to $0.044/round ($22.00/brick). I paid $0.05/round ($25.00/brick) because I could not find a place with more than a couple of 50 round boxes. I finally found a place that would flat ship and had a few thousand boxes in stock. It is nice that I can order ammo and have it shipped to my house. But if we are going to have shortages again, it will hard to find even mail order.
While I don’t see a run yet on powder and primers it may be coming. Just be prepared. Unfortunately, I had to sell all of my powder, primers and ammo because I cannot take with me in my container. So I hope there is still plenty when I get there. In the meantime, make sure you have. This will not last as long as the last drought. It may not even get as bad as the last one. If you don’t have at least 3 months worth of ammo, I would think of stocking up.

First one, up to you, but "household items" are pretty much up to you discretion, sea law wise.
Second one, if you know how much ammo you have, you don't have enough.
I never violate the laws but you would not believe what
people ship in containers.
How do you think all our neighbors get all the neat fireworks?
If you own a sailboat what is your limit in cargo?
Smuggling is a very American activity.
Hate to see you go.
