I didn't see that,  I know people who saved.  People who got insurance who didn't have.  I've seen much more positives than negatives.  Also I didn't pay a penny more for my private plan.

The problem with ACA in a nutshell is that more people were harmed than the number of people helped.

In other words, the cost far exceeds its benefits.

My kaiser plan went from $120 a month to $400 thanks to barry. And i had to choose a new plan that had higher copays.

You obviously  run in different circles than most people.

You can't argue with statistics.  The issue becomes whether your specific situation even falls under the ACA guidelines.  Employers who already have fewer employees (50?) than the limit are not required to offer healthcare insurance plans that meet ACA minimums.

Also, it's dishonest to only talk about number of people enrolled/covered with healthcare plans.  Much of the new enrollees are on Medicare -- not the most generous of plans.  And of those on ACA or private plans, with thousands out-of-pocket before insurance pays anything plus co-pays, many can't afford to use the services included in plans they pay for.

https://www.onedigital.com/blog/affordable-care-act-aca-limits-fees-and-penalties-through-2020/

Also, if you're only looking at premiums, then you haven't used that coverage yet.  With lower premiums, you usually have higher annual deductibles (out-of-pocket expense before insurance pays) and co-pays (a better plan might have $10/Rx copay, while a cheaper one might be $20).

Additionally, if the person's taxable income is not great (less than $50K/yr), they may be getting their premiums subsidized (tax payers make up the difference).

No matter what, most people find themselves in worse situations than before ACA.

Thank Obamacare for the Rise of the Uninsured

Quote
While Obamacare promised affordable health insurance for every American, and even penalized those who
refused to buy it, the law did nothing to control underlying costs.  The very structure of the law which imposed
billions of dollars in new, costly regulations also led to higher and higher insurance premiums.

As a result, when President Trump took office in 2017, average individual market health insurance premiums
in states using HealthCare.gov had already doubled when compared to 2013, the year before Obamacare’s
main regulations took effect.  Average premiums went up by another 26 percent in 2018.

https://www.cms.gov/blog/thank-obamacare-rise-uninsured

In case you missed the news, Hawaii tried opting into the ACA exchange.  After wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars setting up the exchange, hiring administrators, and putting people into it as fast as possible, the actual enrollment was so low, they opted out in less than 2 years.  Wasted tax dollars for a scheme that raised rates. Hawaii already had a better system in place, which they went back to.  Now, if you buy a plan from ACA in Hawaii, you have to use the national exchange website.  Hawaii was just one of dozens of states that tried to follow Obamacare down the abyss, but eventually gave up on it.

In States That Didn’t Expand Medicaid, It’s As If Obamacare Doesn’t Even Exist For The Poor

Quote
Twenty-five states didn’t take up the Obamacare Medicaid expansion at the beginning of this year, and the
results speak for themselves: A new survey shows more than one-third of their lowest-income residents remain
uninsured, a rate virtually unchanged from last year, even as millions gained coverage elsewhere.

Nationwide, the share of Americans 19 to 64 years old without health insurance fell from 20 percent to 10 percent,
as 9.5 million people got covered by Medicaid or private health insurance, according to a poll of Obamacare
enrollees published Thursday by the Commonwealth Fund.
.....
The authors of the ACA didn’t foresee this outcome, which was made possible by a Supreme Court ruling in 2012
giving states the right to opt out of Medicaid expansion and granting GOP politicians another cudgel to use against
Obamacare.

Another thing.  If you're comparing your old insurance plan with the new Obamacare plan, and the coverage, total cost and premiums are about the same,
maybe your old plan sucked, too.

Just a thought.

All these accomplishments for useless religion stuff.  And desperation to ban abortion and freedom.  Oh yeah he did sooo good much benefit for me and my life.

Less partisan article.

I'll give trump space force, that was pretty decent thing to do.
Killing Isis was good, but not something only trump could of done.
Reshaping justice,  is a huge pro and con.
Taxes,  I pay like a tiny bit less.  Barely enough to buy a decent gun.  While rich people got a huge cut.

So far not really adding up to amazing trump his accomplishments outshine the failures.
I am glad you admitted you are wrong.

I like how he give Trump sort-of credit for killing ISIS, but says others could have done that.

If I'm not mistaken, ISIS rose up while Obama was bragging about killing Osama Bin Laden.  Part of what helped ISIS was the so-called Arab Spring that Hildabeast and Obama helped create in Libya, Egypt, etc.  Benghazi happened in part because of their covert arming of Syrian rebels through Turkey.

Maybe someone else could have done all the things Trump has done, but the work of the current President doesn't wait for the next President.  Trump's taking care of business without taking polls to see how his decisions affect his reelection chances.

Also, wealth envy is strong in Liberals.  If someone else pays taxes on $1M of income, and I pay taxes on $100K of income, and we both get tax breaks, I would expect the person making $1M to get a bigger tax break than me because HE WAS ALREADY PAYING WAY MORE IN TAXES THAN ME!

OMG, how many times do we have to use this to explain tax cuts?

Unfortunately this guy is inflicted with TDS so bad that he admitted that Trump has more accomplishments than he was giving him credit for previously. But won’t give him credit because he is a hypocrite. I did a quick search and found a list of literally hundreds of all the bills and EO’s that Trump has authored and signed. It was too much work to list them all. But TDS boy won’t go any farther than the first couple of websites. And instead of acknowledging that all those religious related bills and EO’s signed are also accomplishments he downplays them because he is prejudiced against religion and religious people. So not only is his TDS showing badly his hypocrisy about being open minded towards Trump is showing and making him look pretty fucking stupid.

Me paying a bit less is not worth the massive debt the usa is currently getting.   That's a real national security issue there.  Glad that everyone is ignoring that.   Cause Trump can do no harm.  If Obama did it that's bad though.

You paying less in income tax gives you money in your pocket to decide what to do with it.

Invest for retirement.
Save for a major purchase or emergencies.
Exercise your Second Amendment right.
Spend it frivolously on something you've been putting off.
Give it to charity.
Pay a month or so of healthcare premiums.

You know -- things that help the economy, or helps others and reduces dependence on government welfare?

The fact is, you get to spend that money on what YOU decide (FREEDOOOOMMMMMM!!).  The massive debt will not be solved without increased economic activity and growth.  The Gov't doesn't create economic growth by taxing us.  They do it by getting out of the way, LOWERING taxes, and implementing smart trade policies and agreements.

If you can't see how Obama taxing us slowed the recovery (slowest since the Great Depression), and how Trump sparked record growth and unemployment, it's no wonder you think like you do.

You're 100% free to give the IRS every dollar you'd like to send in to help pay the debt.  But STOP forcing YOUR beliefs on everybody else!  You Liberals are worse than religious cults!!

I agree with low taxes but that NEEDS to be paired with government spending cuts.  You cant tax less and spend more.  Stop giving major tax cuts to corporations.  That corrupt as fuck if you give tax cuts to a cooperation that then funds your campaign. This goes to both sides but I find it worse on republicans. We need major spending and tax reforms.  Cut government waste, less monopolies, more competition,  if a cooperation cant survive then let it be replaced. There no reason we should be subsidizing oil drilling or fracking.

I might sound liberal as fuck but if you make billions yes you should pay more "beer" tax dollars.  Maybe incentive the trickle down effect more instead of making a few mega rich people/ corporations.

You are SO NARROW MINDED!!! You are the full embodiment of a snowflake. All you can think about is yourself? You paying less is meaningless only to you. But everyone paying less means more money gets pumped back into the economy. Which since you don’t seem to understand how our economy works, is actually GOOD FOR IT!!! Go buy that extra gun every year. When 300 Million Americans spend that extra money the tax revenues that come in help our economy. You think VERY SMALL. Because you only consider how things effect you and not how those same little things everyone as a whole. So in your little world everything is small and meaningless. How sad. I feel bad for you.

Now, when you say that EVERYONE is ignoring our national debt problem, you are once again lying. I have not been ignoring it. On the contrary I have been trying to enlighten everyone. But once again, you look only into your little cocoon and only see what you want and not the big picture. And then because your little world is so tiny you refuse to see the truth. What you posted here is EXACTLY, almost VERBATIM, what the Democrats said when Ronald Reagan was elected on the heels of an oil/energy crisis, banking interest rates above 20%, inflation at over 13%, and welfare spending at state and federal levels at an all time high.  Reagan lowered taxes across the board, INCREASED military spending to unprecedented levels (I was lucky to begin active duty just after the raises kicked in, so I didn't have to experience the embarrassingly low wages of the military pre-Reagan), and set in motion a recovery that beat all previous recovery records.

Under Reagan, we had unbelievable economic growth, the lowest tax rates in decades, and a budget SURPLUS.  Here's a little secret:  when more people are employed, and everyone is making and investing more of their own money, they pay MORE in taxes and receive LESS in government assistance.  It's a simple binary concept:  you are either contributing to the system and not taking from it, or you are taking from it and not contributing.  The more we have contributing, the more revenue there is and the less gov't spending there is.

Hopefully you can see how this is a very simple yet solidly true principle.  Lowering taxes to increase tax revenue was totally counterintuitive to tax-and-spend Democrats, and they predicted Lions and Tigers and Bears from Reagan's "dangerous" increased spending on top of lower tax rates.

In the end, Reagan had to give the Dems the tax programs they wanted in order to get the minimum of the things he needed in the budget.  The Dems are historically notorious for promising spending cuts later in exchange for higher taxes now.  Of course, the taxes go up immediately, but the cuts never happen -- in fact, just the opposite.  With the increased taxes, they budget in ever increasing spending.  Reagan put a halt to that by refusing to sign any budget that didn't include the spending he wanted and the tax cuts he knew the economy needed.

The Dem spending is why it's now recorded that Reagan's tax cuts reduced revenue 6%.  That totally ignores the fact that millions were no longer out of work, and the oil industry in the US that was destroyed by OPEC came roaring back.  Additionally, the Cold War was over right after Reagan left office, completely due to the fact the Soviets could not match our military spending levels.  A lot of money put in the right places for a few years saved us countless billions preparing for the inevitable nuclear conflict between the US and USSR.

So, how you personally fared in a tax cut is irrelevant in the big national picture.  Corporations, independent businessmen and women, and mom & pop size businesses all get tax breaks that equate to stable prices, constant turnover of product, and employment for workers.  For every dollar the government takes by force, they spend more than half of it feeding the system that takes and spends that dollar.  Give them $1M, and they spend $500K for accounting, regulatory compliance, managers, workers and facilities -- all to spend the remaining $500K.  And, once they start taking taxes for a new program, that program will never die.  Money is a drug for DC.  The more they get, the more they need.
