I bet pretty much every boomer still remembers their home telephone number when they were a kid 50+ years ago. I still remember most of my friend's phone numbers from when I was a kid.
I made the cutoff for Boomer status -- Dec 1961 (Boomers from what I see is 1946 to 1964).
Home phone:
704-782-9790When I first had to dial the number, it was printed on the dial as "ST 6-9790", which was pronounced "State-6" for the prefix. The numbers 7 & 8 corresponded to the letters on the dial S & T. That's how everyone remembered their numbers -- a word at the beginning to make memorizing easier. It was years before we had to use an area code for long distance in-state calls. That's because we didn't have enough phones in the state to require more than one area code.
I found an old phone book for my town online. All the numbers are 5 digits. Just have to dial "ST" (78) before each one.
I remember having that number from age 4 (old enough to know what a phone is) until I went to college at 18, and my mom still had it another 33 years until she moved in with my sister in 2013. I remember my mom refused to buy a touchtone phone -- our rotary was just fine. So, when I started working enough to pay for another line, I had another phone installed (same line/number) in my room and got a red "princess" style touchtone phone. I think it might have been the most stylish thing in our house at the time!

My mom kept that phone the whole time she was there. Never had a problem with it.
Losing that number was like losing our identity.
