Those were the $hit.  The cables down the frame so that steering wheel could go all the way around.  No matter as none of use could do those fancy tricks, but was still cool.  Or those folding pegs on the front and back wheels. 

My grandpa bought me my first bike from Eki Cyclery.  I don't remember what happened to that bike.

Been a long time since I took some “R” with a few beers. I have not seen Henry’s Dark for a long time. I get good craft beer out here so now I’m spoiled.

I spent the entire year of 1976 on Guam( with a little TDY to the Philippines and Japan).
I don't think I ever saw a single TV show there but then again we didn't have power for like, two months
(super Typhoon Pamela).

Most countries export crap to the US.
Canadian Labatts was much better than American.
The real biggie was San Miguel domestic,  that was good beer!
The crap they shipped to America was criminal.
Same with Guinness.
I'd love to get some Domestic Beck's dark.

Yeah. Imports have so much preservatives. We drink Japanese and German beers produced in this countries, not the US versions and they are so much cleaner.

Henry's was good beer.  I wasn't into IPAs back then, but RedHook was popular.  As well as Elysian. 

Rainer was $hit beer, but cheap.  Sort of the Schmidts and Schlitz of the PNW.

Carling Black Label, cases of it sitting in the sun somehow got guys thirsty, and it was free.   Never could drink that stuff, but some just guzzled it.

Ranier, Black Label, and another brand I can't remember right now used to sell real cheap.  I remember how the packaging looked like but the name escapes me.  Something-light beer, lol!  They would sell for like $2.99 a 12 pack of cans.  When we were low on cash (which was often back then) we would pool our money and buy these cheap beer to drink and shoot the shit after work.

We also liked to buy baby millers and baby lowenbraus.

Growing up, it was the Miller Lite uncles and the Bud Light uncles. When we used to tailgate at UH football games, my job was the backpack cooler carrier for the Bud Light uncles going into the stadium. Then I was the “guide” on the way out back to the car after the game. Good times.

Yeah, that period of time when we could bring cooler backpacks into the Stadium for UH games were priceless.  Also used to pack snacks and bentos.

For me the cheap beers were Old English 800 and Mickey’s Big Mouth. Mickey’s is skunk beer. You have to hold your nose while you drink it.

Colt 45 was too sophisticated and expensive for my taste.
