I am old enough to remember wigwam stores. Did Frank Fasi own this chain of stores? 

I’m not as old as many who posted memories here. Some of them, like Inspector, had dinosaurs as pets.

I'm not sure if Fasi owned the stores.  Eventually Wigwam went away and Gems took it's place.

I remember Gems! Both the Waipahu and Kalihi one. Went to the Kalihi one all the time growing up. My uncle’s shop was right near there and we spent many weekend over there. Good times!

Fishing in the Kapalama canal was fun too. But can’t believe people eat the fish and crab from there.

I bought my 10/22 at Woolworths Ala Moana in the late 70s.  Honsport, Sears and JC Penneys all had a few guns for sale.  I bought my first Buck 110 and sharpening stones at Penneys.

When Don Quijote was Daiei and Holiday Mart.  When Macy's was Liberty House. 

Remembering the open highways of back when, going for top speed With a 1967 Triumph Bonneville on whatever road that was that turned into H1.  Out by what would become Makakilo.   Totally empty highway. 

Dole pineapple tasting without a tour bus to be seen.  Road through North Shore not a parking lot.

No hotels south of Waikiki.

It's been so long now, youngsters have no real memory of the Hawaii Raceway Park at Campbell Industrial Park.  It closed in 2006 -- 14 years ago.  In just two years, we will be seeing kids born into a time where that iconic facility did not exist at all.

Heck, we have 20-somethings now who only got their licenses 4-13 years ago.  They've never been able to go to the park and experience what fossil fuels and adrenaline combined can really do!

2  sunday breakfast at jesse's bakery and fresh pandesal
3  parties and playing the star wars video game at the pizza place
4  kenny's deli for field trips
5  ms pacman and slush float at kenny's
6  watching people play dragon's lair in fun factory
7  playing games for free in fun factory after hours when friends worked there

I remember that small theatre by Longs - I saw Beat Street there.
If I remember Dragon's Lair was a $1 or $5 to play a game? Fun Factory is still there.
