Signature.  Same way you validate checks and credit card purchases. Though I am not opposed to perhaps adding a section to add the last 4 of ssn for additional security.

and how much credit card scams, fraud cases are committed every day?
You admitted to being a victim of a scam/fraud.

You know why there was little lines?  Most of Hawaii votes by mail. I don't know a single person that isn't on this forum who didn't vote by mail.  I voted by mail, I don't even know what a polling site looks like.  Its so convenient.  Hawaii's elections are secure.  Don't fight the future,  modernization is good.  Put unique QR codes on all ballots with tracking information to enhance security, redo voting registration rolls.  That's plenty of security.  Then you know the ballot and the person are both valid without forcing them to stand in line, take off work, etc.
Once again, thinking you know it all. . .

Tell those who waited over 4 hours in line to vote. . . Just because you don't know of anyone who it affected or that it didn't affect you doesn't mean it didn't happen.  You're so sure of what you know from what you believe and what you see. . . wake up!

How do you know that the person who signed the return envelope is the person who filled out the ballot? At a live polling location, once the signature and ID is "verified" that same person is given one ballot, to be completed on site... ballot never leaves possession of that person.

Some signature verification machines in this past election were set to 40% "matching standard". No signature matching procedure is fool-proof, but that is ludicrous.

Social worker in Texas arrested for submitting 134 ballots from developmentally-disabled clients. No mention if the signatures matched. Nor if they interviewed the clients who confirmed that she voted for who they told her to vote for.

So when certain states did not validate signatures?  What then?

BTW, recommend offering up the last for of SSN for anything.  I mean you can if you want, but it will leave you more susceptible to ID theft.

Sigh. . .

Aiea mentioned "There was almost no line on any given year other than this one with only two polling places open.", which I believe he meant to make a different point.  I don't want to speak for him, so I'll let him reply in kind.

What do you have to back up your "Hawaii votes by mail"?  Go ahead, I'll wait.

You DO know that Hawaii has had early WALK IN voting for a while.  And that was very well received.  I've done it many times.

Dunno if it was you who mentioned the thing about folks who don't have days off on election day, I believe there are laws that make time off mandatory for voting.  Yes, I understand that not all employers will follow the law and allow that, but there have been other options to vote in person that have been available for many years.

Hence my statement of adding the last 4 of ssn.  For added security, there are things you can do to enhance and modernize the voting system.  Going backwards and forcing in person voting is not the way.  You are also missing key aspects just because its possible to fraud does that mean people will? Jail sentence for a few votes that won't affect the election.   There needs to be a balance, between ease of access and security.

Haha.  Very true.

But when said woke person talks out of their a$$ and says outlandish things and make like they know everything, I occasionally am inspired to respond.

Exactly how do you verify that the person that "add[ed] the last 4 of ssn" is the person who filled out the ballot?

I understand there are other methods.  Early voting, walk in etc.  I am not saying everyone has to vote my mail. Just that its a good option.  More options the better.  I personally will only vote by mail, all other options seem like more effort same reward.

Yes, people WILL commit fraud. As I mentioned, YOU were a victim. The example is right in your face and you continue to deny that it won't happen. This is beyond your $100 scam - this is the heart of our democracy. Only legit US Citizens should be voting in OUR election. No dead people. No carbon copies.

You don't but that eliminates random mail fraud stolen ballots.  You will never get 100% with any system unless you create a DNA database and require live samples with video affidavit with a witness for every vote.  Its all about acceptable risk.  There will always be fraud just like many other crimes, but its not widespread.  I can see it affecting elections if the spread was 100 people,  but not tens of thousands.  The voting system needs some modernization and improvements  But mail in voting is the future.

I do believe options are good, but they need to be secure and verifiable options.

The key is there was fraud, but it was known,  had this been the election it would have no influence in it.  I was frauded,  notified the authorities and the public.  The whole point is checks and balances.  I agree that only legit people should vote,  I've never said otherwise.   People who fraud are caught most of the time and its not a large issue on validity of elections.  Make it harder to fraud.  Don't punish the many for the crimes of a few.  Just like you don't take away guns from law abiding citizens for the actions of criminals.   Don't take away my right to vote with ease for the few bad apples who fraud.

I mean this election 99%+ voted by mail.  Not sure what point you are trying to get at...

I don't believe there was any mass fraud in Hawaii that I know of and our election was basically all mail in voting.

Consider this for a second.  This is just the fraud that has been discovered, or allegedly discovered.  You REALLY think that's it?  You said above, checks and balances.  Why not audit the system first and then release the results?  Think!!!  THINK!!!

Again, back up your statement. . .

What am I getting at?  You make CLAIMS, throwing things out there that you BELIEVE, but never offer any proof or backup.  You demand backup and TANGIBLE proof to get you to believe.  Please forgive me if I don't just take your word for it.
