True on the “we were all young once”. I learned many times along the way that there’s a lot I can learn and improve.

Then there’s always the “those young bucks don’t know shit” thing.  That said, this isn’t a generational thing. In this case, it’s anyone who is the “I know what I know, don’t confuse me with the facts” type. I know many like that who are older as well. Any age really. Again, especially with firearms.

Yeah, I rail on OG. I do try to teach or help him “see things”. Never saying I’m right or all knowing.  But there are times where you can tell he never had anyone put him in his place.

I've enjoy reading many of your threads. Not good at posting, many times because passion gets the better of me. OG hang in there, I have adult children that share alot of your views. Just remember some of us have lived through alot stuff. I think they're trying to share wisdom from living through it. Live and learn.

Trolls are easy to spot.  if you haven't been tagged as one yet, then you're safe ..... for now, anyway!   

TBH i would shoot more but its so inconvenient for me.  The range is a 2+ hr round trip.  Ammo costs a ton.  I work 60 hr weeks.  Its a hobby I like but can't fully enjoy.  If I won the lotto first thing I would do is buy a house in Hawaii Kai on the marina and "retire".   Range would be a 5min drive and I could shoot whenever I felt like however much.  Don't want to make too many excuses. I do like the value point, I am a collector.  I own many things I doubt I will use like body armor and radiation suits. In a way I am a prepper.

If i won the lotto, im leaving this shithole.

And donating millions to fight for HI 2a rights for others.

One of the admins reached out to inform me that I am mistaken, and if that is the case then I apologize to the members of this forum. 2ahawaii is one of the handful of sites where we do not have to worry about censorship from tech giants and is supposed to be one of the few places online where we can have a free exchange of ideas. My hasty reaction went against my values and I should have gathered more evidence instead of making an emotional call. It is very frustrating to have someone try and pour cold water on our movement at a time when we are finally gaining some momentum but everyone has a right to be a d-bag as long as they are not infringing on anybody else. Our ideas should win by merit as well as our ability to articulate them clearly and win hearts and minds. It is the opposition who shuts down debate, and by encouraging that I just took one step closer to the dark side. The fact remains that the sockpuppet phenomenon is a well-documented and is a major ingredient of the corporate media psyop that has caused the current crisis of legitimacy in our government. I would still encourage everyone to question all sources of information and consider the hidden agendas at work before allowing your morale to become compromised. Shooting interest, Ruger 270 win, Remington 22lr, 12 gauge single shot, Hawken 50 cal, Remington new army cap & ball, Hoyt compound. Love to hunt, but I do shoot. Not to speed on newer stuff but I'm learning alot from reading all your threads.

I'm guessing you are talking about me.  Ive reached out to you to meet in real life because you didn't believe that I live here or own guns.  You make me out to be the boogeyman, just because I have different views than you.   The gun community doesn't mean more echo chambers like the liberals.  People of different thoughts and opinions can like guns.  It's not a requirement to be a republican to be a gun owner.  You don't have to be religious or be prolife.  Anyone can support 2a.  My opinion remains that the best way to keep gun rights is to have people of all types of beliefs and opinions join the gun support movement. 

People can be friends even if they don't agree politically. My family and friends all have different political leanings but that doesn't stop us from getting along or having conversations.  Everyone is unique there's no two people here who have the exact opinions.

There is always hope.  I am the one who says that the most.  The senate is key to saving 2a rights.  Get over Trump and move on.  Don't make people doubt everything and our government that's what Russia and Iran want.  If there is proof of corruption,  move on it.  If not don't make conspiracy theories.

I will attend 2a events like in the past when time and my job permits I support the gun movement.  But life is not only about guns.  So forgive me if I value other things too.

Personally I enjoy a good debate more than anything, because it sharpens my ideas and makes my points more salient the next time I need to make them. My family also runs the gambit of political views, and family dinners are always an exciting cacophony of clashing ideals. My issue with you, is that debating with you is like punching the fog. Someone takes the time to make a well crafted argument refuting your points line by line, and rather than respond to that argument, you shift and bring a whole different (oftentimes unrelated) argument. This would be fine if it was in just one or two threads, but it has seeped into most of the forums. I appreciate your different opinion; however I am not here just for your opinion, I am here for the wealth of knowledge the members collectively offer. It is hard to get that knowledge when you are in every thread holding up 50% of the conversation against the entirety of the forum.

Most of us here don't know each other personally. All we know of each other is how we present ourselves on the forum in our interactions with one another. None of us know you beyond how you have presented yourself on these forums. Yet all these strangers are all collectively saying your conduct (not your opinions) is problematic. If you take an introspective look at yourself, hopefully you will see this as a moment of personal growth, and you will become a contributing member of the forums. Alternatively you can entrench yourself further in your conduct, and eventually the hostility will reach the point where these forums are no longer enjoyable, or you will be banned, booted or run off. It's really up to you.

I don't reply to everything.  You keep quoting my posts, so I reply mainly to those.

I'm engaging way fewer topics and comments than you by far.  So, when you say I reply to "everything", you might want to check the stats first.

If nothing else, I seldom repeat the same opinion on multiple threads in every topic.  Your tendency to hijack threads causes much of that for you.  Just because religion is mentioned in a topic is not an invitation to reboot the same exact conversation already captured in 3, 4, 10 other topics. 

I'm rather shocked at how little etiquette people spending as much time on forums and social media as you do seem to know -- particularly for an IT person.  Cross-posting, hijacking and repetitive, redundant comments are highly discouraged and on many sites will get your comments deleted.  If that behavior doesn't improve, you could find your account locked.

If you find yourself able to copy and paste your comments between several threads to make a point, chances are, your forum style needs tweaking.

These are problems that are not unique to you or anyone in particular.  Contrary to some folks' beliefs, this will probably come from experience as long as you are open to learning.

IIRC, he surfaced screeching about teh globull warming, and went away for a while after being rejected for proselytizing about something the forum was not too interested in.

The problem recently, the way I see it, is that some if this back and forth goes on way too long derailing the treads. Or at least making them no longer interesting.

When I poke at Flapp I point out his hypocrisy or error.
He replies with diversion tactics.
I call him on it and sometimes how he’s wrong. (Sometimes with a slight)
He throws back an insult, sometimes with a know-it-all air of arrogance.
Game over. Thread continues.

Gotta let Flapp have last word though.

Too many threads guys chasing the rabbit down the hole into the darkness.
Get in, get out, let the thread topic continue in meaningful discussion.

I do enjoy PunaP and Inspectors responses though as they tend to lower the hammer.
