I think that is a realistic scenario, and we should train for it.

Actually, I was hoping the moral would be, "Don't try and be a dumbass and use a katana in a gun fight".  :geekdanc:

pretty sure that guy knows that and just demonstrating skills!

:D

I know it's asking a lot but how would you all feel about this more real world training scenario together?  I mean, if some day we actually get CCW we'd be ahead of the game.  FF to 8:15 to bypass product intro if pressed for time.

There was a guy two shoots back who had either a Makarov or CZ82, he was drawing from inside the waistband, under his shirt. He took longer to get his shots off, but realistically speaking, that would be the ideal way to train. If there's ever a SHTF scenario where there is no law, most of us probably wouldn't advertise our sidearm to others, so drawing from concealed carry is practical. I don't think there will be bands of roving ronin with katana for us to deal with, but I can see myself having to shoot someone with a Bear Grylls machete from Sports Authority...

Thanks for the post.  I was wondering what was acceptable here as far as holsters go for both safety and courtesy but never asked and defaulted to standard OWB at 3 o'clock.  So many holster variations entire classes could be held for each to maintain some kind of control over the line?

I can see where HDF would be worried, drawing from under a shirt just adds a few more steps and chances for something to go wrong. It's hard not to get competitive and push yourself to get shots off a little faster than your previous time, but at the same time I don't want to snag my Glock on something and go home with muzzle burns... My girlfriend might kill me before I can explain that they aren't hickies.
