So were talking .007% (255K) of the total U S population have died from C-19

We're talking percentage of those infected by covid, not the entire population

We're talking percentage of those infected by covid, not the entire population

Numbers are hard when OMG keeps posting stuff he can't explain.

Like the fact that anyone who died the last 9 months and were tested for COVID-19 were listed in the COVID-19 stats if the test was positive, even if the actual cause was underlying health conditions:  heart disease, liver, kidneys, lungs ... even pneumonia.  Things people die from every day are being listed because they tested positive.  We have already seen that as much as 80% of positive tests may be wrong, as the tests increases the amount of COVID in the test sample so many times until it pops positive, that the final result could be so minuscule that it's not infectious, not causing immune responses, and likely will never cause symptoms.  Yet, the government wants large numbers to report -- the larger, the better.

Never let a crisis go to waste.  Big gov't will take care of us.

Need more "science" re the efficacy of masks? I've previously posted the CDC systematic review of 10 RCTs concluding: "...we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks" and "Our systematic review found no significant effect of face masks on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza." But here are some pictures worth a thousand words, though I do include the words from Tom Woods, titled "Anti-COVID measures don't work, so that's your fault".

Remember when the CDC credited masks for bringing down "cases" in Arizona?

When they say ridiculous things like this, they give the green light to people who want to blame their neighbors for rises in cases. "Why, since we know masks work, the rise in cases must be because of you stupid anti-science people who refuse to wear them!"

Even though mask compliance is as high as ever, these "pro-science" people just know it can't be, because they just know masks at the very least go a long way toward solving the problem.

Well, anyway, how about we check out Arizona's curve now?

Well, how about that.

Could it be that masks didn't bring the curve down after all? That these curves seem to do more or less the same thing no matter what?

Right now one blue state after another that supposedly "followed the science," is seeing a rise in "cases." And all their people can do is blame their neighbors. Because, don't you know, the "science" works! So if the "science" isn't working, that means someone somewhere must not be sciencing.

Let's check in with "pro-science" Rhode Island. Are masks keeping "cases" down there?

Well, how about that.

I guess by an odd coincidence, people in Arizona and Rhode Island must have chosen the same moment to stop sciencing!

Or, virus gonna virus.

Red-state Utah is in a similar situation. People are screaming at their neighbors to wear masks. And as you can see, that has had a clear and unmistakable effect:

From the CDC:

Face Masks

In our systematic review, we identified 10 RCTs [Fauci has stated that only Randomized Controlled Trials should be considered valid evidence] that reported estimates of the effectiveness of face masks in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the community from literature published during 1946–July 27, 2018. In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks (RR 0.78, 95% CI 0.51–1.20; I2 = 30%, p = 0.25) (Figure 2). One study evaluated the use of masks among pilgrims from Australia during the Hajj pilgrimage and reported no major difference in the risk for laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infection in the control or mask group (33). Two studies in university settings assessed the effectiveness of face masks for primary protection by monitoring the incidence of laboratory-confirmed influenza among student hall residents for 5 months (9,10). The overall reduction in ILI or laboratory-confirmed influenza cases in the face mask group was not significant in either studies (9,10). Study designs in the 7 household studies were slightly different: 1 study provided face masks and P2 respirators for household contacts only (34), another study evaluated face mask use as a source control for infected persons only (35), and the remaining studies provided masks for the infected persons as well as their close contacts (11–13,15,17). None of the household studies reported a significant reduction in secondary laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the face mask group (11–13,15,17,34,35). Most studies were underpowered because of limited sample size, and some studies also reported suboptimal adherence in the face mask group.

Disposable medical masks (also known as surgical masks) are loose-fitting devices that were designed to be worn by medical personnel to protect accidental contamination of patient wounds, and to protect the wearer against splashes or sprays of bodily fluids (36). There is limited evidence for their effectiveness in preventing influenza virus transmission either when worn by the infected person for source control or when worn by uninfected persons to reduce exposure. Our systematic review found no significant effect of face masks on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza.

Why is any asymptomatic person wearing a mask at all? (I mean besides the fact that they do NOT stop the spread of viruses... ALL the RCTs, Fauci's gold standard, conclude that, including the Danish study of 6,000 participants published last week). They are not infectious, and thus they are NOT "protecting others"... since a non-infectious person can't infect anyone. Study involving 10 MILLION people, released 4 days ago (When are the morons going to "follow the science"?):

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-19802-w

Nature Communications volume 11, Article number: 5917 (2020)

Post-lockdown SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening in nearly ten million residents of Wuhan, China

The screening of the 9,865,404 participants without a history of COVID-19 found no newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, and identified 300 asymptomatic positive cases with a detection rate of 0.303 (95% CI 0.270–0.339)/10,000. The median age-stratified Ct-values of the asymptomatic cases were shown in Supplementary Table 1. Of the 300 asymptomatic positive cases, two cases came from one family and another two were from another family. There were no previously confirmed COVID-19 patients in these two families. A total of 1174 close contacts of the asymptomatic positive cases were traced, and they all tested negative for the COVID-19. There were 34,424 previously recovered COVID-19 cases who participated in the screening. Of the 34,424 participants with a history of COVID-19, 107 tested positive again, giving a repositive rate of 0.310% (95% CI 0.423–0.574%).

Virus cultures were negative for all asymptomatic positive and repositive cases, indicating no “viable virus” in positive cases detected in this study.

All asymptomatic positive cases, repositive cases and their close contacts were isolated for at least 2 weeks until the results of nucleic acid testing were negative. None of detected positive cases or their close contacts became symptomatic or newly confirmed with COVID-19 during the isolation period. In this screening programme, single and mixed testing was performed, respectively, for 76.7% and 23.3% of the collected samples. The asymptomatic positive rates were 0.321 (95% CI 0.282–0.364)/10,000 and 0.243 (95% CI 0.183–0.315)/10,000, respectively.

In the present study, virus culture was carried out on samples from asymptomatic positive cases, and found no viable SARS-CoV-2 virus. All close contacts of the asymptomatic positive cases tested negative, indicating that the asymptomatic positive cases detected in this study were unlikely to be infectious.

China started forest fires across the world.  Some countries fought the fire and put it out.   Some just watched it burn while mostly only blaming China.

If you're referring to your BFF Trump, he banned China early on and caught heat for it.  Even Biden called him a xenophobe/racist, of which Biden denied at the debate.  But then his tweets are online confirming he did say those things.  Pelosi did the same thing and even then encourage people to go out and eat/gather,.

For someone who claims they don't like big government control, having Trump make a nationwide mandate would be bad.  Each state's governor/mayor could easily make mask mandates, social dist, etc...Trump left it up to each state because what may be needed for NYC, may not apply to ND.  So why penalize other cities/states with a nationwide order?

He also started the "warp speed" vaccine process.  Of which Pfizer denied having anything to do with, even though it shows they got millions due to the program.

This all ties in to your belief that Trump didn't do enough fro COVID.  The only thing he really didn't do was tell people to wear a mask.  Would you be OK if you were told by the government to wear an arm band for the greater good?

It would be interesting to see the testing rates as well and where the tests were administered. We know covid is being used as a political weapon at this point, and there are so many false positives that make the official results are wildly unreliable.

You are right, trumps started off strong then tripped and laid on the grown crying and being useless, then he got back up (vaccines), then after that not much.   When it comes to national security,  "big" government "control" is fine if its not over reaching.  Wearing a piece of fabric on your face is not over reaching.  It doesn't violate anyone's rights,  privacy or right to live and be free.  It only applies to public areas.   I would argue what bush did with the patriot act is 100x worse than any mask mandate could ever hope to reach.   Far, far worse mandates come in times of major war. But you are right seemingly both my positions tend to be opposite of each other and its hard to figure out a middle area.

The armband argument is silly, but I will humor it.   If the armband showed infected individuals then yes I would be fine with that. If I got covid, I would wear it.

The irony of over-reporting covid cases is that the manipulated statistics created by the tampering with test results will make the virus appear less dangerous than it actually is. Even though they are carelessly counting unrelated deaths, the numbers are showing the lethality and long term complications of virus are fading quickly.

I wouldn't call social security commie, but yes socialist.  I would also call strong military/LE both communist and fascist.

I would call  your train of thought also an oxymoron.  You don't want big government overreach, but yet OK with them forcing people to wear mask and vaxxx.  Then fall back on the "life and liberty" in the constitution for those who are wearing mask/vaxxed against those who are not wearing a mask/vaxxxed, for their own safety.  Because people vaxxed/masked have a right to life and liberty.

In WWII, Hitler didn't just start murdering the Jews.  He had the German people and others believe that they were a problem.  So bad a problem that German citizens were ratting out their Jewish neighbors to the Nazis/gestapo. And forced Jews to wear armbands so they can be identified easily.  By the people believing a problem existed and "all for the greater good", he got the people on board and they were OK with the government doing what they did.

Do you not see the progression with COVID?  First it exist.  Then told to closed businesses.  Then wear a mask. Now we are on the vaxxx phase.  You cannot do X,Y,Z unless you have a vaxxx.  What comes after mass vaxxx is people who are not vaxxed will be segregated and put somewhere.  Then what happens after that will be worst.  Cause you know, all in the name of the greater good.

That's because the people who had the means FLED the Democrat cities when it got bad.  They brought the plague with them to Republican states.

 :shake:

BTW, "outbreak" is not a synonym for "less competent."  NYC has been the epicenter of COVID-19 WORLDWIDE since this began.  Now that most of their people are dead, relocated, recovered, and or immune, OF COURSE the states that had lower rates will now see increases.  Exact same thing happened in Sweden, the "example" everyone held up for the world to copy.

Swedish approach to fighting COVID-19 takes a turn as cases spike

Don't you love how some people on this forum just toss out a news article as some sort of argument, but then stop short of actually articulating what that argument is?

WTF does "biggest Covid Outbreaks right now are in republican states" actually MEAN?  Can you answer what your conclusion is?  Does the virus follow politics?

It all depends who's in office.  If Biden and people like him are in office, then there will be no 10 year look back.  But if say, Trump children or Mark Cuban is in office, maybe there will be and he will expose all the propaganda.

I wear my mask, but I got the good shit.  This is why I'm not worried if the person next to me is not wearing a mask, or wearing it incorrectly.

You do know that most contemporary forms of government, ESPECIALLY COMMUNISM & SOCIALISM, borrowed (stole) ideals directly from religion, particularly Christianity, right?

So, to say they stole from each other is incorrect.  They all used the same source as a starting point:  The Bible.

We know Islam is an exception.  It is a political and governmental text disguised as a religious text.
