My apologies if I've previously posted this 19 minute talk by Tom Woods in this thread. If I did, or even posted elsewhere on other threads, the youtube version has, of course, now been deleted. Here it is, as both audio and video, on the Mises Institute website.

The Covid Cult

11/20/2020 Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

This is the greatest public health fiasco in the history of the world, and the media has distorted it so badly, that much of the general public is celebrating villains and hissing at heroes. And, even — perversely enough — celebrating the destruction of their own lives and their children's lives.
Isn’t it funny that the truth gets removed from YouTube? If it wasn’t true there is no reason to remove it. It is just another person’s opinion and under the first amendment they are entitled.

There is speculation that should China Bidet and Whore@ss take office that not only will the 230 exemptions for social media not be amended to deprive them of liability for censorship, but that it will be strengthened so they can censor even more without penalty, and that pressure will be put on various agencies and regulators to ban, or at least make life very difficult, for the alternatives like Parler and Gab and whoever else might want to attempt to provide uncensored avenues for former facebook and twitter, etc. users. This scenario is already a reality in many European countries where the police bust in doors and arrest people for "hate speech", "disinformation", etc.[I.e. information/ideas contrary to the official government propaganda.]  While we have the First Amendment, it obviously doesn't apply to private entities who have paid off government officials (Or to government officials who want to ban or severely limit religious services because "THE VIRUS!!!".).

COVID-19: Americans are in ‘delusional psychosis’ and policing each other, psychiatrist warns

America is on the verge of being “lost” because many of its citizens are suffering from a “delusional psychosis” and so fearful that they are turning on each other to enforce “nonsensical” coronavirus restrictions, a California psychiatrist has warned.

“We don’t need a police force. We don’t need a secret Stasi to go after the neighbor that isn’t wearing his mask on a park bench. We have families who are willing to do that,” Dr. Mark McDonald said last month during a summit on the virus.

“We have office workers [who] will come by and mace you if you are not wearing a mask, and no one will come to your rescue. In fact, they’ll probably applaud it.”

A child and adolescent psychiatrist in private practice in West Los Angeles. Dr. Mark McDonald made his remarks during the virtual Truth Over Fear Summit organized by Catholic broadcaster Patrick Coffin.

The “driving force of the coronavirus pandemic and the hysteria” around it is fear, McDonald said at the summit.

This fear has now “grown and become so entrenched that it has reached a state of what I would call delusional psychosis. A delusion is a fixed false belief that is contrary to reality,” he added.

“Fear has become a new virtue. Never before in the history of this country have we told people that fear is good,” or to “settle into” those fears and allow them “to control and constrain your life,” said McDonald.

Smacks of Nazi Germany. After they disarmed the Jews and sent them to the camps to be disposed of, they started campaigns where neighbor was turning in neighbor for speaking against the government. Especially non party members.

Germany was an educated country and not some 3rd world Somali country.  Yet they had German citizens turn in their Jew neighbors just because the law stated so and because it was for the greater good of Germany.  Those who cannot see that something similar is going on now are morons.  Especially that HKQB group on FB.  If those people were in Nazi Germany, they would be ratting out all the Jews.

Of everyone here anyone support seatbelt laws?  Cellphone usage in vehicle laws? Drunk driving laws?  Helmet usage on bikes.  Driving licenses?  Are they the Government becoming Nazi Germany restricting your freedom in your own personal vehicle?

Similarities between all those and mask laws.  Something that is likely that it wont affect anyone but you but is the law to protect others (and yourself).  Similar to mask mandates etc.

Would you call 911 because you saw someone on the phone while driving?  Or call 911 because someone wasn't wearing a seat belt, or using a helmet on a bike?  Or would you turn yourself into police because you were on the phone while driving or not wearing a seat belt as well?

I do not support seat belt laws, if someone wants to die, then that's their problem, not mine.  I don't support cell phone laws, or helmet on bike laws either.

Again, you are missing the point.  The point is ratting out others.  Maybe you should join the HKQB FB group so you can see the hate most of their members have toward unmasked, tourist, and the non-vaxxed once it becomes available.  You might just fit in with that groups thought process.  Also go watch 2 films.  Schindlers List and The Pianist.

My bad I was not trying to comment on the "ratting" out others.  I don't support that.  I think policing belongs to the police.  My comment was geared in general of the mask mandate topic.  I just thought of that idea to compare today and posted.  Driving licenses and Drunk driving, you are against, is this because of the potential danger to others?

As for the "hate" on those who don't wear masks and vaccinate, that's perfectly fine.  Everyone has a right to hate or love anyone or anything.

I do support some alcohol laws and drivers license law.  There are 2 amendments to the constitution about alcohol.  1 removes alcohol consumption (prohibition in the 20s).  Then a few more down the amendments, it states that 1 must follow their states law about alcohol.  So what ever the state decides to make law wise, does not violate the constitution.  Like how they are doing now with a 14 day quarantine (freely travel between states), mask (cannot practice religion/speech/1A stuff without a mask) and more.

There is nothing in the constitution about drivers license or similar (horse and carriage license back in 1791) laws.  So the states can create as they please and won't violate the constitution.

A Drivers License doesn't make you a good driver any more than not having one makes you a bad one.

People can learn to drive, as well as practice daily, on private property and back country roads.  Many who live on farms do.  They may learn at a very young age, meaning they probably have more skill and experience behind the wheel than any 16 year old who barely got a passing grade on their driving test.

Also, someone who lost their license over a couple of DUIs that happened when they were going though a bad patch in their life doesn't mean they forgot how to drive.  If they are on the road sober, with or without a license, they are NOT a "potential danger to others" any more than the licensed 16 or 17 yr olds are.

Leave it to someone like you to believe that a card in your wallet makes you a safer driver than someone driving without one.  If you've taken the Hawaii State Drivers License tests, you have to know that the written part is super easy if you looked over the sample test questions in the book.  Most states are similar.  I once picked up a Texas driver handbook, went to lunch at BK with my wife, and then straight back to the state patrol office to take the test.  We both passed after a little over an hour of prep.  And demonstrating you can safely operate a car is also simple for someone already experienced.

The point being, you put more trust in a government-issued ID to keep you safe than the actual drivers' ability.

The Covid Cult/Con continues in spite of all the science...

The COVID Case Con Continues

By Brian C. Joondeph, M.D.

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/11/the_covid_case_con_continues.html

As many Americans recover from their “virtual Thanksgiving,” sharing prayers and turkey across the internet, the media is pushing their November propaganda narrative, that Dementia Joe really won the presidential election and that COVID cases are once again surging across America.

The Washington Post claims that Wuhan coronavirus cases are “skyrocketing” while the New York Times wails that “It has hit us with a vengeance.” Yet the media is oblivious, either ignorantly or deliberately, to the reality that positive tests are not the same thing as cases.

A “case” has a very specific definition, apparently beyond the intellectual realm of Wolf Blitzer or Neil Cavuto. The CDC provides a specific “case definition.”  A case is not just a positive test.  Instead, what is needed is "presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence."  Notice the AND, meaning not simply a positive test.

[Note the significance of this, since, according research published last week, no infections were caused, per contact tracing, by 1174 asymptomatic persons who tested positive on RT-PCR tests and were followed up. Why won't the state of Hawaii release the data on how many of those who test positive are asymptomatic? Why won't they reveal the level of amplification/cycles of the tests they run? Even Fauci says that anything above 34 cycles is prone to false positive results, and most labs appear to be using 35-40 cycles. I call bullshit.]

 * * * * *

Here's an absolute must read for anyone wanting to understand the inaccuracy of the testing and how it leads to the claims of a casedemic, thus justifying continued overriding of citizens' rights.

https://sebastianrushworth.com/2020/11/06/how-accurate-are-the-covid-tests/

Sebastian Rushworth M.D.

Health and medical information grounded in science

How accurate are the covid tests?

Covid PCR test and antibody test accuracy

One of the most frequent questions I’ve been getting recently is how accurate I think the covid tests are, and in particular the PCR tests. As it happens, a systematic review has recently been published in Evidence Based Medicine that looks at the covid tests (both PCR and antibody), so I thought it would be interesting to look in to the evidence together. This article gets a bit technical and math-heavy in places, so please bear with me. I think the payoff is worth it.

....

Let’s do one final thought experiment to illustrate this. Say the disease is now very rare, and only one in a thousand tested people actually has covid. If you test 1,000 people, you will get back 61 positive results. Of those, one will be a true positive, and 60 will be false positives. So, even though the prevalence of true disease has again decreased by a factor of ten, the number of positive results has only decreased slightly, from 68 to 61 (of which 60 are false positives!). So by looking just at positive PCR tests, you can easily be convinced that the disease is continuing to be roughly as prevalent in the population, even as it goes from being present in one in a hundred people to only being present in one in a thousand. The rarer the disease becomes in reality, the less likely you are to notice any difference in the number of tests returning positive results.

I want to restate this again, in a slightly different way, to make sure the message sinks in. As the disease drops enormously, by a factor of 100, from affecting one in ten to one in a thousand tested people, there is little more than a halving in PCR positive results, from 142 to 61. So a huge reduction in real infections only causes a small reduction in PCR confirmed “cases”. In fact, the disease could vanish from the face of the Earth, and you would still be getting 60 positive results for every 1,000 tests carried out!

The same trend is seen even if the PCR test were to have a much better specificity than we are estimating here, of say 99% . Here’s a quick illustration, since I don’t want to tire you with too many more numbers. If one in ten has the disease and you test 1,000 people, you will get back 97 positive results, of which 88 will be true positives and 9 will be false positives. If one in 100 has the disease, you will get back 19 positive results, of which 9 will be true positives and ten will be false positives. If one in 1,000 has the disease, you will get back 12 positive results, of which 11 will be false positives.

So, even if the test has a very high specificity of 99%, when the virus stops being present at pandemic levels in the population and starts to decrease to more endemic levels, you quickly get to a point where most positive results are false positives, and where the disease seems to be much more prevalent than it really is.

As you can see, the less prevalent the disease is in reality, the more likely the test is to generate a false positive result, and the less useful the test is as a method for figuring out who actually has covid. And the less prevalent the disease is, the more prevalent it will seem to be in relation to reality. If decisions about covid continue to be made largely based on what PCR tests show, we might never be able to call off the pandemic!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why PCR positive cases are a very poor indicator of how prevalent covid is in the population, and why we should instead be basing decisions on the rates of hospitalization, ICU admission, and death. If we just look at the PCR tests, we will continue to believe that the disease is widespread in the population indefinitely, even as it becomes less and less common in reality. And that is assuming the rate of testing doesn’t increase. If we combine this built-in problem with accuracy, with a massive increase in testing (as has happened in most countries over the course of the pandemic), then we can create the impression of a disease that is continuing to spread wildly through a population, even when it isn’t.

From Tom Woods today:

"The Greatest public health fiasco in the history of the world."

Here's the most important of my COVID talks -- this one to a group of 100 state legislators.

I urged them to be a voice for the voiceless, for those whose lives have been devastated -- and even taken away -- by lockdown.

I concluded my presentation -- which of course strongly criticized the lockdown/mask strategy -- with something along these lines:

People who are living in irrational fear of the virus already have their representatives: the entire entertainment world, the media, and virtually all of the political class.

The rest of us have almost no one.

People whose family members died because their procedures were indefinitely postponed, or who lost a loved one to suicide, or who have had everything they've poured their hearts into crushed and destroyed -- they have no one.

Elderly people dying of social isolation, and who are told they can see their grandkids through a window or over Zoom, likewise have no one to speak for them.

In Colorado, nursing home residents held signs saying, "Rather die from COVID than loneliness," "Prisoners in our own home" and "Give us freedom."

"We did this because one thing we have to look forward to is a simple hug," said the president of the Resident Council. "It gives us meaning."

The physical and mental health toll of the restrictions and shutdowns is staggering -- and nobody is allowed to mention it for fear of being told they want grandmothers to die.

No one will speak for them.

Except you.

People will hate you for this. Automatons who can do nothing but repeat CBS News talking points will think you're terrible.

The rest of us will consider you a hero.

You must be the voice of the voiceless. Because if it isn't you, it will be no one.

A cult has been my conviction for as long as this China virus debacle has been hyped up by the usual suspects:

It is truly a religion, like teh globull warming, practiced predominately by democrats-liberals-leftists.

Started a new personal amusement today while driving, noting the drivers and type of cars of those wearing a mask while driving.

Will be a few drives until I can mentally compile the results.   First one I saw today was one of the oversized electric golf karts, Teaser or something with a big T on it.
