From Tom Woods (cult deprogrammer) today:

Every day there are more charts that undermine the "we have to stay home and cancel everything" narrative, and I have a couple of those for you today, but first I want to show you something else.

Someone I follow on Twitter just released a Tweet thread that sums up the inhuman COVID response so beautifully that I had to share it with you:

The East Coast is home to a little under 130,000,000 people. And 130 million is the number of people in the world that our global overreaction to COVID has pushed to the brink of starvation according to the World Health Organization.

Do you support lockdowns? You may think you’re being virtuous, but you're being selfish. Imagine driving from Portland, Maine thru Boston, NYC, Philly, DC, Atlanta, Miami. Now imagine everybody you saw on your trip starving. All 130 million of them. Those are faces of lockdowns.

Add to that people right here at home so afraid of COVID they stay home while having strokes and heart attacks. They stay home or are delayed from chemo and other life-maintaining treatments. Some sit alone in despair, drinking alcohol or abusing drugs.

Some lash out at spouses and children who have no school or social life in which to find refuge or help -- or detection.

Kids growing up spending formative chunks of their lives learning that being close to another human is dangerous and the very breathe we exhale is poison. You don’t think that’s going to have long-term effects?

Alzheimer's patients confused, lost in their own fading world with no one working to keep them afloat -- they drown in their isolation. Grandparents denied the joy of one of the definitive pleasures of life -- hugging a grandchild or seeing the joy of their faces Christmas morning.

“But lockdowns save lives,” you cry. But denying human contact, scaring people to death, driving people to despair -- is this “saving” lives? And how many lives does it save?

All through the US and Europe many places that locked down thought they stopped cases, but it wasn’t lockdowns. It was summer. And when summer was over, COVID returned. Masks, social distancing, lockdowns, all ripped through by COVID like a football team running through a paper banner.

No proms, no third-grade shows in a crowded gym, no science fairs, no big games, no school (that they used to say they didn’t like but now walk around like zombies pining for the interactions). Shortcomings in education lead to a lifetime of shortcomings, from career choices and earning power, to emotional development and family building.

Supply chains disrupted. Jobs lost. Production slowed. 130 million people in danger of starvation. It’s easy for many of us in the middle class to hunker down and work from home. Just buy a new computer for kids' remote schooling and work from the den. Not everybody has that option.

I was originally going to close this issue here, but I can't resist sharing two charts, courtesy of Ian Miller (@ianmSC).

Remember when Dr. Fauci said Florida was "asking for trouble" by fully reopening (the state had already been mostly open anyway for a while)? Sure you do.

And remember when he said New York was a model of how to handle the situation? Again, sure.

Now do you recall him saying anything recently about this?

Me either.

How about California, where nobody can do anything?

They must be doing much better than Florida right now, right?

Hmm:

Let me remind you: there are no restrictions in Florida.

It's almost like all the joy California is taking from its people, and all the ways it's crushing and impoverishing them, is for nothing.

It surely can't be other factors like population density, culture, climate, etc etc.  This guy is arguing from only one side with incomplete information.  Still doesn't explain when lockdowns succeed, aka china etc.   He is right on the global starvation stuff countries that are unable to provide are suffering, this is unfortunate.  But thankfully we live in the USA.

Well since I can't verify that, my opinion still stands with the apparent majority that its covid killing most people.  If you have underlying conditions and covid contributes to a death its still covid related.  Just having diabetes and high blood pressure might be bad on its own but not lethal, combine it with covid and if you die, its covid that pushed you over the edge.

The ID cards puna posted, looks great.  I look forward to getting my vaccine and proof of immunity then I would feel safe rolling back distancing and mask mandates. Think the CDC might actually pull off this vaccine campaign.  Looks hopeful!

well, it's settled then...

The vaxxx is not 100%, so there is a chance that you may still get it.  And say it's only 95% effective (Modera), if the entire USA 340,000,000 get it, that means it wont work on 17,000,000 people.  Which means 17 million still can get COVID.  That's huge.  So you still will have to social distance and wear a shitty cloth mask. Pfiszer is estimating 90%, so 34 million people can still catch COVID.

1. The vaccine trials haven't been published anywhere, let alone published in peer reviewed medical journals, as to what level of effectiveness exists with what age groups and what comorbidities. All we have thus are are press releases from, that's right, the manufacturers of the vaccine. How likely are those to be accurate?

2. People who have delved into what information is officially available (and apparently unofficially available) have commented that the high level of vaccine effectiveness as reported in the press releases only applies to younger, healthier, no comorbidity people... the test population apparently has an incredibly small number of those most at risk from the virus, the extreme elderly, and those with multiple comorbidities. Thus, the high level of effectiveness is apparently only for people who would have develop only mild symptoms, or no symptoms at all. What good is that? Why is there, apparently, no significant data on how the vaccine lowers the rate of hospitalizations, ICU admissions, and deaths?

Maybe such info will be forthcoming when the trial data is published, but I'm pretty sure the PR departments of the companies would be screaming at the top of their lungs if they had data showing decreased death, ICU or hospitalization rates, especially in the vulnerable populations (who are slated to get the vaccine first).

Also, see my next post as to why the vaccine, in addition to not protecting all who get it, won't result in the decrease of any of the cult restrictions.

Do you really trust what China is telling people?  Do you really believe that WHO says China has only 93,000 total COVID cases and 4700 deaths in the entire country?

I mentioned this factor in an earlier post. Here we have the Pfizer CEO confirming that immunization is no guarantee that one can't be infected with enough viral load to be infectious to other people. I.e. You WILL continue to wear masks, social distance, only be "allowed" to have a certain number of certain people invited into your home as guests, not be able to be at the bedside of dying relatives and friends, etc.  The Cult Lives! "Damn you all! God damn you all to hell!"

Pfizer chairman: We're not sure if someone can transmit virus after vaccination

Pfizer chairman Albert Bourla told Dateline host Lester Holt that the pharmaceutical company was "not certain" if the vaccine prevented the coronavirus from being transmitted, saying, "This is something that needs to be examined."

In a prime-time special titled "Race for a Vaccine" set to air Thursday, Holt questioned Bourla and other individuals involved in the development and distribution of the medicine.

In November, Pfizer announced that its vaccine candidate had been shown to be more than 90 percent effective at preventing COVID-19 and has applied for emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In a list of interview highlights released before the special, Holt asked Bourla, "Even though I've had the protection, am I still able to transmit it to other people?"

"I think this is something that needs to be examined. We are not certain about that right now with what we know," Bourla responded.

California To Issue Democrat Politicians Special ID Cards Allowing Them To Break Lockdown Rules

December 4th, 2020

SACRAMENTO, CA—Gavin Newsom announced a plan today to issue special government ID cards to Democrat politicians allowing them to break lockdown rules.

Should a Democrat leader be caught eating at a fancy restaurant, flying to Hawaii with some lobbyists, or traveling to Mexico for vacation, they'll simply need to show their Democrat politician ID card, and they'll be off the hook.

"We are following the SCIENCE!" Newsom said. "And the SCIENCE! says that only Republicans and poor people can really spread this thing. We Democrat leaders are a low-risk group. In fact, medical experts are telling me I am completely immune due to the large quantity of hair gel I use every day."

"SCIENCE!" he added for no reason in particular.

He also proposed marking non-Democrat politicians with special patches so they are easily identifiable when they are breaking the law by walking outside or eating a burger and can be arrested on sight.

I don't trust china but I trust all the other countries that locked down and took measures and had major success.  Perhaps using China as an example was a poor example.  Lets stick with Taiwan, Korea, New Zealand, Australia, etc

The Constitutional case for the right to party. Shaming and excoriation by the Safety Cult members has always existed, and so have those who told them fuck off. Interesting read for history and law nerds. Lots of links in the article.

Why Americans Should Fight Unconstitutional Lockdown Orders For Our Right To Party

The best case for a right to party is in the right of assembly, placed in the Bill of Rights as many deadly diseases threatened the American population.

In Alexander Pushkin’s “Feast in a Time of Plague,” an old priest returning from a mass funeral of plague victims catches young people partying, and unleashes a 19th-century rant: “A godless banquet, godless madmen all … Go back now to your homes!” “Be off, old man!” The partygoers yell back in a period version of “OK, Boomer.” Another tells the priest: “Our homes are sad. And youth is fond of joyousness.”

Human nature remains constant despite the passage of time. Young Florentines still partied through the Black Death. William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet fell in love at a dance party during a plague in Verona. Authorities, like Pushkin’s priest, reacted to epidemics with repressive measures that often did more harm than good. Romeo, after all, killed himself when a plague lockdown prevented the news that Juliet was still alive from reaching him.

It was then as it is now with COVID-19 today: most people are still fond of joyousness. Our modern governments are still trying to stop young people are still trying to party with medieval plague control measures, even if in language less florid than Pushkin’s.

* * * *

[Final paragraph:]

“It is from petty tyrannies that large ones take root and grow,” the Supreme Court warned in a ruling on assembly rights. Men and women who achieve positions of power are always hungry for more. Fighting for a universal right to party these holidays, through the courts — and, if need be, mass civil disobedience — is a quintessentially American, bipartisan, and winnable cause.

If this is the article I heard about, it blows up the Fauci/Democrat/Omnigun narrative. And the complaints from tthe left were so bad that John Hopkins removed it from their website. I assume that is why you had to post the link from the Archives. I don’t have the time to read it right now. I’ll read it later. Thanks for reposting this.  :shaka:

Quote
When does a community reach herd immunity? It depends on the reproduction number,
or R0. The R0 tells you the average number of people that a single person with the virus
can infect if those people aren’t already immune. The higher the R0, the more people
need to be resistant to reach herd immunity.

Researchers think that the R0 for COVID-19 is between 2 and 3. This means that one
person can infect two to three other people. It also means 50% to 67% of the population
would need to be resistant before herd immunity kicks
in and the infection rates start to
go down.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
