Just curious.
Did you have a mask on at the gym ?

Think I’d cardiac arrest working out with a mask on. Can’t last more than 40 minutes with a mask on before I start semi-hyperventilating
Maybe I’m masktrophobic.

I think you summed it up very well, the three blocked liberals might need to give it their blessing, assuming you see what they post.

So far, only seen Tesla and Priaps drivers wearing masks, about the sort of cars you would expect the safety cult to drive.

Used to be Volvos didn't it?

Sorry about the lengthy post, but of course there is no need to read any of it at all... much less the whole thing... I just thought it was "poetic" and just copying the first section wouldn't do it justice...

What People Say When They Wear a Mask in Their Car

By Laurence M. Vance

We’ve all seen it. A man or a woman driving their car with a mask on their face.

As we all know, you can say a great deal about yourself without actually saying anything.

They may not realize it, but here is what people are saying when they wear a face mask while driving their car.

I voted for Joe Biden.

I believe the coronavirus is a deadly disease like smallpox or ebola.

I believe everything the government says about the coronavirus.

I believe that the coronavirus is a public health emergency that only government can deal with.

I believe the coronavirus is like a toxic cloud lingering in the air that could poison me.

I hang on every word of Dr. Fauci.

I believe everything the mainstream news media says about the coronavirus.

I check the latest figures on the worldwide coronavirus infection rates every night.

I am scared to death that I am going to breathe in the coronavirus while I am driving my car.

I no longer use restrooms at stores and restaurants.

I believe that Covid-19 tests are entirely accurate.

I believe in social distancing.

I am very concerned about the rise in coronavirus cases, but ignore the death rate.

I believe that everyone whom the government says died of coronavirus actually died of coronavirus.

I can’t wait to take the Covid-19 vaccine.

I no longer go the church services.

I believe that wearing masks saves lives.

It bothers me when I see employees at stores not wearing their masks properly.

I use hand sanitizer all throughout the day.

I don’t believe anything that conservatives and libertarians say about the coronavirus.

I think that those who dismiss the severity of the coronavirus are conspiracy theorists.

I am going above and beyond any recommendations to keep from catching the coronavirus.

I believe that breathing in fresh air might make me sick.

I support government mask mandates.

I support government lockdowns.

I support the government closing “unessential” businesses.

If I catch the coronavirus, then I might die.

I wear a mask when walking in the park.

I wear a mask when I gas up my car.

I wear a mask when I walk my dog.

I believe that everyone should wear a face mask.

I wear a mask whenever I step out of my front door.

I believe everything the CDC says about the dangers of the coronavirus.

I believe that people who don’t wear masks are endangering themselves and others.

I wear a mask in restaurants while I am ordering my food.

I believe masks work but still want you to wear one so you don’t infect me.

I am so oxygen-deprived from wearing a mask that I forgot to take it off when I got in the car.

I can’t get the coronavirus if I take off my mask while eating and drinking at a restaurant.

I put on my mask to walk to the restroom at a restaurant.

I put on my mask back on at a restaurant as soon as I finish my meal.

I didn’t spend any time with people outside of my immediate family over the holidays.

I believe we are all in this together, but I don’t really know what this means.

I use a shitty cloth type covering.not my good stuff. Reasoning is it is harder to breath in the good stuff and wears out faster.  idk any outbreak at a gym that wasnt a group class. And everyone been wearing shitty cloth mask since march.

So risk is minimal.

But i do wear the good mask to and from the gym. Just change out b4 the workout begins. But i also wipe equipment down like no tomorrow b4 using.

I seen a girl with a special o2 hose attached to a hepa filter cause she got migraines from the co2. Attached the hose to her surgical mask and migraines stopped.

And thus does the official roll-out of the "social credit" system take place in formerly mostly democratic countries.... but... as per the article "there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.". Trust them. And... just put on your mask!

https://notthebee.com/article/spain-is-keeping-a-registry-of-people-who-refuse-the-covid-vaccine-and-sharing-it-with-other-eu-nations-but-thats-no-big-deal-and-theres-absolutely-nothing-to-worry-about

Spain is keeping a registry of people who refuse the Covid vaccine and sharing it with other EU nations. But that’s no big deal and there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.

This is fine, you guys, really.

It's fine.

Spain needs to keep a registry of all of its citizens who refuse to take the vaccine.

It's for the greater good of society.

It is! Get over it!

Didn't you know that Spain "has been one of the European countries worst affected by the virus"? Yeah, that's a fact.

Health Minister Salvador Illa says the registry won't be made public at all either unless you count sharing the information with other EU nations as being public. So that's fine, and everything checks out there.

Also, none of this is bad. Like, at all.

Oh, and just so you know: The Covid-19 vaccination will not be made mandatory in Spain. The Health Minister said that. So stop freaking out.

This is fine.

The Health Minister also said, "the way to defeat the virus is to vaccinate all of us or the more the better," which totally makes sense because that's science, and if you think this vaccine isn't the best defense against Covid that will ever exist (ever) you're probably a weirdo like Alex Jones or something like that.

Illa also said vaccination should be considered "an act of solidarity toward our loved ones and our citizenship." So again, this is for the greater good, and it should make you feel warm and fuzzy inside when you get the vaccine because you're helping us all.

Just a reminder: this is all fine.

Here's one last line from Health Minister Salvador Illa that should help calm your nerves (if you're even still anxious at all):

"People who are offered a therapy that they refuse for any reason, it will be noted in the register...so that there is no error in the system, not to have given this person the possibility of being vaccinated."

See, they're just keeping track of you. You know, to make sure you're safe.

They love you.

And this is fine.

Fawk!

In the U.S. they’ll use the excuse that it’s to protect against liability and lawsuits.
To be sure to “record” that everyone was offered the chance and it’s recorded that you opted out.
Citizen registry will be National and available to every State and the airlines to use as they see fit.

But it’s fine.

Citizen registry. Some scary shit.

Mask on while driving - hah I do that :)

It’s so I don’t need to think about putting it on when I walk in to work or to a shop/restaurant.   Saves me walking Half way thru the parking lot and having to make a U turn.

Yeah, it looks silly.  Luckily I’m an old fart with white hair.....and nobody notices old farts

Right on cue, from this morning's Hawaii Tribune-Herald. Now the blind and deaf (to reality) sheeple will be able to voluntarily [at the moment] let the government track their every location 24/7. Nothing nefarious is possible. It's fine.

I wasn't expecting much from the new mayor, former prosecutor, Mitch Roth, but I was hoping he wouldn't be as stupid and corrupt as Lyin' Harry... so much for hopes.

https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/2020/12/30/hawaii-news/covid-19-exposure-notification-app-now-available-to-residents-of-hawaii-county/

COVID-19 exposure notification app now available to residents of Hawaii County

AlohaSafe Alert, the state of Hawaii’s official COVID-19 exposure notification app, is now available to Hawaii County residents and is expected to launch statewide next week.

Developed in partnership with the state Department of Health, the aio Foundation and the Hawaii Executive Collaborative, the free app aims to slow the spread of COVID-19 by using smartphones to notify users of their exposure to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. [I'm sure all those "organizations" have nothing but the welfare of "the people" in mind, right?]

According to alohasafealert.org, when the app senses another app in use nearby, the devices will exchange a secure, random, anonymous code. An individual’s location, name or other identifiable information is never included. [What else would anyone expect them to say?]

Users who test positive for COVID-19 will receive a text message on their phone that will allow them to alert other users they were exposed.

A notification will only be triggered if a minimum exposure threshold is met: Devices must have been a distance of 6 feet or less for at least 15 cumulative minutes in the past 14 days.

“For me, the big takeaway is this is one other way that we can start protecting our island against the coronavirus and keep all of us safe,” [BINGO!!!] said Mayor Mitch Roth during the meeting. “They’re looking at doing a statewide release next week, but we wanted to get a jump start and start getting people signed up and logged in. … To me, it was kind of a no-brainer [Well, that's in his strike zone for sure!]. It’s just another way we can keep our island safe and healthy. Let’s do what we can.”

Combined with other preventative measures, if just 15% of the community uses the app, the number of infections will decline by 8% and the number of deaths will be reduced by 6%, according to Roth.

Studies show that for every two people who opt to use the app, one infection can be avoided. [The article does not provide the names of, nor links to, the obviously high quality double blinded placebo controlled randomized controlled trials published in peer-reviewed journals validating these claims. Maybe some folks would like to read the quality of "the science" for themselves?]

EDIT: The reporter responded to my question to her the "the studies". She said the county gave no sources, but she believed they were referring to this article: https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2020-09-03-new-research-shows-tracing-apps-can-save-lives-all-levels-uptake

Haha. "team of modelers suggest..." " research models the potential ..." "we estimate..." Modelers?! STFU! Sounds perfect for Hawaii (and everywhere with Democrat governors really) moron tyrants to use as justification for locking you down, bankrupting you, citing and fining you for not obeying useless "emergency proclamations", etc. smh.

I'm posting this whole article because I believe it encapsulates the entire situation re "the science" and the buffoonery of the general sheeple and the sheeple politicians who lie day after day after day without any scientific justification at all. Don't get me wrong, I don't have the slightest expectation that any sheeple, general population nor government agent, will be effected in the slightest way by such evidence as presented here. Just thinking that it's good for all the sane people (a couple dozen in all of Hawaii?) to know as many of the actual facts as possible, just because facts are fun. And reality.

From Tom Woods today:

One of the most interesting COVID commentators, and an outstanding number cruncher, on Twitter goes by a pseudonym so his life doesn't get ruined.

You can follow him @boriquagato.

For today's installment I've taken his most recent thread, edited it lightly for clarity, and reproduced it here.

Everything that follows from this moment on is his.

Global health policy in 2020 has centered around NPI's (non-pharmaceutical interventions) like distancing, masks, and school closures. These have been sold as a way to stop infection as though this were science. This was never true and that fact was known and knowable.

Let's look.

Above is the plot of social restriction and NPI vs total death per million. There is 0 R2. This means that the variables play no role in explaining one another. We can see this same relationship between NPI and all-cause deaths; this is devastating to the case for NPI:

Correlation is not proof of causality, but a total lack of correlation is proof that there was no material causality. Barring massive and implausible coincidence, it's essentially impossible to cause something and not correlate to it, especially 51 times.

This would seem to pose some very serious questions for those claiming that lockdowns work, those basing policy upon them, and those claiming this is the side of science. There is no science here or any data. These are the febrile imaginings of discredited modelers.

This has been clear and obvious from all over the world since the beginning and had been proven so clearly by May that it's hard to imagine anyone who is actually conversant with the data still believing in these responses. Everyone got the same R curve.

Lockdowns were a panic response. They came long after disease growth curves had rolled over and had no effect overall. It's clear when you plot Google mobility data vs disease curves. (This is from May.)

R2 was ~0. This was all proven by May and strongly argued by April. This data is literally overwhelming. There is just no evidence that lockdowns work.

Spain and the Netherlands had radically different responses, but got R (the basic reproduction number) curves that were all but indistinguishable. This issue crops up everywhere. Mitigation has zero effect.

Similarly, there is no evidence that opening again had any effect either.

And this was all known. Every set of longstanding pandemic guidelines contra-indicated lockdowns...until this year, when we suddenly abandoned 100 years of science and started making stuff up and moralizing about it as though it were canon....

Donald Henderson, who led the war against smallpox, wrote in 2006 that "there are no historical observations or scientific studies that support the confinement by quarantine of groups of possibly infected people for extended periods to slow the spread of influenza.... The negative consequences of large-scale quarantine are so extreme (forced confinement of sick people with the well; restriction of movement of populations) that this mitigation measure should be eliminated from serious consideration."

The same is true of masks. Just last year the WHO surveyed this and found that community masking does not work. Nothing has changed.

[He has lots of links and charts on masks, so if you're interested in that I recommend reading the entire thread. --TW]

And now that it's becoming clear that asymptomatic spread is vanishingly rare, we can really put the final nail in the NPI coffin. This is the vector these interventions mean to head off. But it was never a serious source of infection.

The simple fact is this: nothing we have done has made any meaningful difference. COVID is seasonal and regional. When your season comes, it comes. NPI is not why California and Peru and eastern Europe did not get hit in the spring. It was just regional.

Then your season comes and everyone moves together. We've been mistaking baby oil for sunscreen in places where it was still nighttime. Then noon came and it was revealed for what it really was.

Croatia, for example, is open. No lockdowns, no curfews, no mask laws. Open. Life there is normal. People are trying to claim this is causing a COVID spike. It's not. They look, gasp, just like every other country around them, most of whom are locked down, masked, etc. NPIs do nothing.

This means that all this moralizing about "you just want grandma to die" and the censorship of evidence counter to the "big lie" that lockdowns work has been at best a disastrous mistake, and at worst a cynical ploy to wreak havoc and cover past errors.

Politicians are now doubling and trebling down on lockdowns and masks because to do otherwise is to admit that they bought us $10 trillion of sugar water as medicine and wrecked our lives and livelihoods for no sound reason. They will never do that.

This is why they have shifted the debate to morality and censorship: to mask the fact that the science and the data call them liars. Repeat "I'm on the side of science" enough and scare people endlessly and you can generate social belief. But it's pure propaganda.

These mitigations do not work to stop COVID or to reduce overall deaths. This is the most expensive peacetime policy debacle in human history and they all want to do it again. Say no. Stand up. This is not medicine, it's poison. This does not save lives, it wrecks them.

It's easy to sell false hope to scared people. There are whole industries that prey on the desperation of parents with sick kids. But sometimes there is just not much you can do, however much you want control and want to "do something." This is one of those times.

And we need to accept that. Many times, the best way to "do something" is to do nothing. "Something" in this case has been an absolute disaster. We panicked into unprecedented global self-harm.

It's time to stop. This is just making it worse.

Stay brave. stay free. stay safe.

I had a similar issue with family, they know I'm a Trump supporter and was surprised I wear my mask all the time and stocked up on the good stuff preCovid.  They're under the impression that only Trump supporters don't wear a mask. I told them, when I go out, everyone is wearing  a mask.  So the odds that 100% of the people I see at the gym, market, Costco, etc are anti Trump is impossible.  They were taken back and had to think about that for a minute.

no PSAs on how to properly wear a mask just straight mandates telling us to wear one. I see quite a few of those blue "medical grade" masks that have turned to a whitish or in some cases brownish tint. The best way to prevent the spread is to STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE! Keep that in mind every time Ige, Caldwell or other authoritarian gives a speech to us commoners. How many times do they touch their face?
