It looks like Yahoo Site Builder doesn't code very well for WebKit. This means that people visiting the site using Chrome and Safari are going to see something different than you intended.

Yeah this is how it looks to us... the correct way on white. Easy to read...

I had never seen that other version before... Thats why I was so confused  ???  No one ever said they saw a diffrent version before...

Thanks for bringing that up! We'll see what we can do to make it more friendly for other browsers...

Appreciate the helpful comments guys!

Hi guys,

Bob in Kona.  Lived here a bit over a year now, four years on Oahu before that.  Overdue to check in.  Used to live five minutes from Koko Head range, which was convenient.  About the same distance from Windward Gun Shop.  Joe there is great people.

NRA Life Member for 20+ years now.  Hoping we get the new public range going soon on the westside.  The lack of formal and informal shooting areas is frustrating on such a sparsely populated island.  Lack of a good gun shop is also not much fun, though it may help not spending too much now that I am retired.  Hate the Internet shipping costs for ammo and parts.

Hi,

Will here on the "Big Island". Didn't have any experience with firearms till I was in the service then got hooked!  Move here in '88 after 4yrs in the army. It was supposed to be temporary but still here!  Took awhile to find a club here and joined/ shot matches. Was on the BOD for 5+ years ran practically every match for quite awhile. been a regular member after that.  A fellow club member steered me to this site.

Hi new to the site. Planning on getting an AR and help support the gun community. Live on Oahu. With the gun laws here I should've stayed on da mainland instead of coming back home. Prior AF but now air guard and working for the army in civilian capacity. Anyway howzit!

Hi 2aHawaii folks!

First of all, thanks 2aHawaii for this wonderful site and for everyone here for contributing to this great online resource.

I'm Jon from Honolulu and have lived here for the last 18 years.  I found this site via Forums Hawaii while researching about handguns, wanted to be a good neighbor and say hello!

Hmm.. prior experience... I learned to shoot the 1911 many years ago from my brother (off-island) and have tried shooting other types of guns with him before.  But since becoming a dad and a small business owner a few years ago, I've not really had a chance to visit and shoot with him much anymore.  I didn't want to get rusty so I took the LIFE class several months ago and finally got around to acquiring a 9mm at Young Guns for practicing at the range.

While I am comfortable around firearms, I still consider myself a newbie regarding our gun laws, guns and ammo types, range etiquette, etc.  I guess I've always relied on my brother for these things and I finally have to become a responsible gun owner with my training wheels off.   :)   I'm hoping to reach out to this community to be a good neighbor and refrain from making any newbie mistakes regarding firearms.

Oh yeah, my wife and I are also avid fans of the TV show, Top Shot.  :)   Maybe I can try out for season 20 of it someday.

I'll most likely start practicing with the 9mm at the KH range one of these days and maybe with some kind of long gun later.

Anyway, nice to meet everyone on this online community.  Hope to meet you guys at the range sometime.  Thanks again, be safe and God bless!

Hey 2aHawaii Members!

Dave here. Learned to fire a handgun from my father who was scared out of his mind during the Watts Riots in LA back in 1965. Learned to fire a rifle after joining an NRA Junior Rifle Club back in 1969. Learned how to reload from my father at the kitchen table using a Lee handloader (no press, just a hammer). It has taken me most of my life to un-learn the bad habits I learned from my father.  ;D  ;D  ;D

I have been mostly a handgun shooter/reloader most of my life but I am now back into shooting rifle and I am just starting to reload for my rifle. I did shoot competition .22 rifle back in 1971. I still have my first .22 target rifle. I am not into competition shooting anymore but just shooting for fun and relaxation. I came over from the Big Island a couple of years ago and I usually go to the KH Range 2 weekends a month. If my wife doesn't complain I sometimes go every weekend. My wife is a peach even though she doesn't like guns she doesn't mind the fact that I spend so much time at the range or in my garage reloading.

I just want to thank the owner and admins for a great forum here.
