Hello everyone.  Im from Oregon and looking to move to Hawaii this year if my job interview goes well next month.  Im a physician so Im interested in finding out how I will be clearing people for firearm licenses.    I'm not to happy to hear about firearm registration.   I'm planning on leaving my collection in Oregon with my step son and perhaps bringing one rifle with me.  Probably also bring a couple of unmade 80% kits since it does not sound like they need to be registered if they are not finished.
Big Island is great, other than lack of a public shooting range.  Local anti-gun politicians stalled the progress of our range here.

Can always use more MDs here, my GP just retired from Kaiser.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier....But the October new member prize is the option of a SIRT laser training pistol or a CMMG AR15 22lr conversion kit.  So get your friends to sign up and post a new member message here.

Hey what's up everyone!

Found 2ahawaii just randomly googling for information and looks like a small, but active community. So far I've joined the "standard" NRA, HRA, and HDF.

Just made my first purchase today, a Glock 19 gen 4 at sec! Hoping for a short line tomorrow at HPD and that I filled the forms in correctly. When I go back for the glock I'm also going to purchase an AR15 in the "budget" config 5.56. I'm a first time buyer so it felt so awkward in the store, not much guidance being given as I checked out the guns but oh well. I read lots of good stuff at sec and since they're in walking distance it made more sense. Can't wait to check out a few of the other popular shops, especially Kaneohe Gun Shop  :shake:

Heard mostly bad stuff about that shop. Especially if you're law enforcement or military. Never been there just for that reason. Could be wrong but meh, I choose not to waste my time.

Same here - but that's the reason I wanna check it out, as off as that sounds. This character is just someone I want to at least meet if I'm in Kaneohe.

I ended up going to SEC and buying a new g19 gen 4 couple days ago and I decided on another route for my ar15 pursuits so I probably won't be seeing that guy for some time.

Hi guys,

Change here.  Just became a firearm owner about 1 month ago.  I'm new to the firearm culture and community and so far, everyone has been super cool about explaining things to me.  Especially the shops who probably have the same noob questions all the time.
