Permit to Aquire
« on: June 07, 2021, 08:10:59 PM »
Hi everybody,

Iʻve been trying to get an appointment for a permit 3 or less.  So far I only get the all appointments are booked for the next 90 days message.  I havenʻt even seen a calendar on the HPD site yet.  Is there a certain time I should check or some trick Iʻm not aware of?  Iʻve been checking for the past 3-4 days now, usually from a couple minutes before the top of the hour to a little past the hour throughout the day.  Any help will be appreciated!  :shaka:

from a previous thread, hope this helps.

ok heres how you guarantee get an appointment. regular hours appointments is 90 days out, they only become available, tuesday-saturday, 8am-420pm. extended hours is 7 days out, monday-friday 430pm-620pm.

1. have at least 30 minutes uninterrupted time to do this, during the days and hours listed above, depending on which type of appointment you want.
2. make sure your computer time is synced, use https://www.time.gov/ to verify.
3. open a browser, I use google chrome. go to https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=19367924
4. choose the type of appointment you want permit to acquire, or registration of firearms.
5. choose regular hours 3 firearms, or extended hours 3 firearms. a spinny thing will appear and then it will tell you there are no appointments available.
6. "spam" this by clicking on the same "button" that you just clicked, regular hours 3 firearms or extended hours 3 firearms. If you are choosing the top option which is extended hours 3 firearms, you dont even have to move your mouse, you can just double left click to spam this. spam this until an appointment availability appears. normally appointments appear every 10 minutes(not necessarily every 10 of the hour, but usually). as soon as the appointment appears, click it. make a mental note of the time when it appeared. the next appointment will appear exactly 10 minutes from that time. reference your computers time.
7. fill out the forms accurately, take your time. make sure they are filled out properly. you will not be getting this appointment, you will get the next appointment.
8. click confirm appointment, the website will tell you the appointment is gone. DO NOT CLOSE the browser, leave it open.
9. go back to step 6 and repeat. except this time when you click on the available appointment that appears, the forms will be pre-filled with the information you typed earlier. immediately scroll to the bottom and click confirm appointment. this way you will get the appointment seconds after it has become available. Since you have made a mental note of the exact time when the appointment appears, you can sit around for 9 minutes and 30 seconds before spamming the button.
10. dont make me regret giving out this information. that means dont make more appointments than you need.

@bigmendo did you try?  I just spent 25 minutes or so clicking.  Trigger finger getting a workout I guess.  Still havenʻt seen anything besides the nothing available message and the occasional loading star that gets my hopes up for a split second.  Guess Iʻll try later in the day.

"Renewing Permit to Aquire"
I was able to schedule one for a family member.
Here are some tips:
- Use a computer and not a phone.
-look for time that are not exactly convenient. Everyone wants morning, both of the appointments I scheduled were at 2pm
- type out all the information on notepad and paste it into the boxes.
-it refreshes every 10 mins, so get ready at 9mins and keep refreshing. I was on the computer at 1:59 and kept refreshing till 2pm and the 2pm appointment popped up.
-it you aren't fast enough, ask a family member/friend for help. Someone has a kid that's doing virtual school;  give them $20 if they can get you booked haha
Good Luck!

I actually managed to snag one for tomorrow!  Was supposed to go fishing tomorrow too, so was a little bummed I had to make a choice, but my fishing buddy was kind enough to change to Thursday.

I would also recommend printing and filling in the forms before you go to your appointment.
