Munn is a Biden supporter so she can't complain of higher COGs. No more mean tweets.

Why they so worried about the world,  we transition first then they will.  We can reap the benefits early.  Manufacture and sell to the world later.

So Tesla is getting sued because rats are eating the wiring and it's not covered under warrant.  They are eating the wiring because instead of normal wires, Tesla is using some kind of eco friendly soy based product to insulate the wires.

Inb4 insurance will cover it, small price to pay to be green, etc...

Tesla isn't the only manufacturer with that problem. Soy based insulation.

Tesla made some parts of their car using Soy.

Soy is a food product.

Rats ate the car parts made from Soy.

Plant based plastics are pretty hilarious, yes you are sourcing from Not Oil but the amount of extra energy to synthesize them is 10 fold and they are still chemically plastic so it's not like they pollute less.

It's about as retarded as 'vegan leather', which is PVC.

Costco started offering ethanol-free gas last year.  They started by having regular-unleaded (87 Octane) without ethanol.  They planned to switch over the higher octane premium-unleaded, too.

From what I've read, ethanol added to gas replaces 10% of the gasoline by volume, but it only provided 3% of the total energy -- meaning you have to burn 107% of the mixture to get the same energy as the 100% gasoline-only amount.

On top of that, you're taking about 20% of the feed/food corn off the market, which drives up prices, increases the amount of corn needing to be grown and brought to market, and that means farm equipment has to plant, harvest and transport the extra corn.

Then there's the cost of damage caused to engines that can't handle the ethanol, like lawn mowers, boat engines, chain saws, etc.

Add the amount of energy it takes to process corn into ethanol, and the entire ethanol-gasoline program wasted more fossil fuel energy than it replaced.

When we see results like that that then requires decades to be fixed, imagine what problems an all EV world might create.

These government-mandated "solutions" always remind me of the old book & song, "I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly".   When you focus on a narrow requirement, the solution is often worse than the original problem.

the best part is that rats eat wiring covered in plastic too...

I predict at some point stolen charging stations and EV batteries will be more lucrative than stolen catalytic converters.

In ghettos all over the world poor folks tap straight from the pole and bypass meters, 100% you will see hipster douches going to bad neighborhoods, not to score Crack, but to juice up their EVs for cents on the dollar.

So my neighbor has a Model 3 Tesla. Which cost about $40K for arguments sake.  The car is 2 years old and is having battery problems. So a loaner that Tesla gave her to use while they fix it is a Model S, which cost about $90K.  She is a surfer and her long board does fit in the model S. They told her that if her board didnt' fit to come back and they will instead give her a Model X as a loaner. The price of the Model X is about $105K.

Glad to see Tesla taking care.

They are discontinuing the Model S, so it makes sense that they don't have those to loan to all their service department customers.

Tesla is building a brand/reputation right now.  It's smart that they would take care of customers having to bring their cars in for warranty-related work.  Providing loaners lessens the customers' frustration and negative impressions.
