I didn't want to start an interservice flame war.  Just pointing out that every job in the military is geared toward a specific need, and that most also have ancillary training to perform jobs not part of their primary positions.  I know every enlisted member of the Air Force is proficient with long guns and trained to perform guard duty.

I think using the NG to offload ships or drive truck is going to get the governments -- state and federal -- sued for stepping on Unions' toes.
The intraservice rivalry thing was definitely in jest. . .
