Let Freedom Ring

Something in this video caught my eye. The part about people saying that they couldn’t sleep due to all the honking outside their apartment. And then complained after the honking stopped they still couldn’t sleep because the honking continued in their head.

Many many years ago when I lived in Long Beach, CA I lived in a small enclave called Belmont Shore. Down there the houses and apartments are very close together and built very close to the street. I had a neighbor who was a Karen to the max like the Millennial Child. And someone who usually parked right in front of our apartment had an alarm system installed that beeped about every 10-15 seconds. It was not loud nor was it annoying. But it was something one noticed when trying to go to sleep. After a couple of hours your brain just blocked it out and we all slept like babies. Except for Karen. She allowed it to get to her. After a couple of months of complaining about not being able to sleep (We all know our body shuts down within 4-5 days of no sleep) and complaining to our apartment manager, she found out who owned the car and sent him nasty harassing and threatening letters about his alarm. The guy with the car moved during this time but Karen kept complaining she couldn’t go to sleep any more because the beeping continued in her head. She eventually broke her lease and moved. Like that would solve her problem. 🤦‍♂️  At the same time she sued our apartment owner/manager and the guy who owned the car. The guy who owned the car countersued for harassment. She ended up losing her lawsuit with our apartment owner/manager and she ended up paying his lawyer fees plus all the charges that went with breaking her lease. Apparently she also lost her suit against the car owner because of the nasty and harassing letters and he got a settlement from her as well. I don’t know or remember any more details.

Bottom line is it does not pay to be a Karen. And the Millennial Child found that out the hard way here as well.

I love it, who would think the quiet Canadians would have this much spirit?

Many of my High school, and university instructors were Canadian.
My PADI instructor was Canadian.
I worked on Telescopes and had a lot Canadians as my fellow workers
and mentors.
In my opinion and this is just me, but Americans( not Democrats) have been raised to
dislike and dis-trust government because our governments suck!
Canadians are not raised with such tyrants so they are slower to see,
that their government sucks.  Mark my words, when they figure it out
they will be just as much freedom fighters as real Americans are.

My coworker who is from Canada told me that Canadian truckers are badass and you don't want to mess with them!

Heard NPR cover the story this morning, they went straight to the right wing, and Q Anon angle and didn't get into any detail of why the truckers felt their position was justified. A little more objectivity by the reporter would have been nice

I gotta say that I think that the protest (or a few individuals within) have taken this too far. When you block the roads and honk constantly you make enemies not supporters.  They are hurting the cause at this point.

So, based on that "rule", attacking old people, pulling them from their cars, spray painting buildings, burning businesses, breaking windows, destroying vehicles, attacking anyone you think is on the "other side" with bike locks, skate boards and molotov cocktails would also be taking it too far?

So far, the truckers have been choir boys and girls compared to what went on in the US the past 2 years.
