I have no control over any suffering and death of aboriginal Hawaiians should the US empire collapses for any reason.  Hence, I do not find any sincere meaning of your question other than trying to elicit some emotional response on my part.

Are we stockpiling medicine and planting fields or just telling people to suck it up and accept their new reality of devastating poverty, disease, and crime for the Greater Good™?

In the meantime, the only hope for normalcy is to look to China for support. 

The way WWIII is ramping up and the day-of-reckoning of the petrodollar is almost here, short of hoarding all the SHTF supplies one can afford right now and preparing to live off the grid, there is nothing anyone or any community can do to offset the post-petrodollar World of those linked to it.

For the US empire, self-sufficiency of most of its population is non-existent and the balkanization I always talked about will happen.  Hence, you and almost every prepper on this forum knows that there will be no escape and the WROL and all of the evils and hardships we talked about will take its course.  Those who took their precautions have a slightly better chance of survival, but who are well-conditioned and ready to live without the amenities of modern civilization?

In Hawaii's case, because the ultrawealthy has allowed it to systematically loose its agriculture base, it will take years before year-round crops can be grown without outside resupply of food.  In the meantime, the only hope for normalcy is to look to China for support.  That is a risky proposition, but what choice does anyone have at that point.  At the very least, in the wake of the balkanization of the US empire, Hawaii still has internationally recognized legal status prior to US occupation, which Hawaiian nationals hope will provide some standing and international recognition in the eyes of those nations still functioning that could offer needed humanitarian assistance.
