Our leaders should put more effort into leveling the playing field.  For everyone.

Everyone that has pride in themselves and desire to reach the pinnacle of their dreams.

The lazy, the self-entitled crybabies, and the ones who hung out by the bathrooms smoking during class time in High School can all suck wind.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.  Same thing.  Provide an atmosphere where the tools are there.  Whether they pick them up to use it depends on them and them alone.  But it is there.

biden and many many others like him in the swamp we know as the nations capitol, have built their political careers by saying and doing everything and anything to stay in power.

The health, prosperity, and success of our Nation was never at the top of their priority list.  Yet they put one hand on the good book and the other in the air and swore they will.

Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

Affirmative action sounds good on paper, but poor in practice.  Look at the NFL lawsuit. Each team needs to interview 1 minority for a head coaching job. Even if they already know who they want for the job.  What could go wrong...

Everytowns statement that she knows what reasonable gun control is. But to be fair, any biden pick is bad for the 2a.

Her main qualification is:

Black
Female

FIFY

I mean either way, who ever he picks is gonna be a bad one. So it's a shit sandwich that we all have to take a bite from. I mean his other picks for other places work out very well right?  Someone who doesn't know what gender he is is in charge of our nuclear waste, someone who is male and had a child with another male cannot be bothered with all the hundreds of cargo ships piled outside of the California port due to being on maternity leave, VP who doesn't know what to do about any issue, etc...

Clearly her race played a significant role in her choosing but she has a pretty good experience record so its not like she is unqualified.

I do think some of the criticisms of her are a bit unfair and/or dishonest. Take for example the criticisms over child porn not being as harsh as possible, republicans confirmed a number of Trump appointees who had also given lesser sentences for similar crimes. It is rather sad that judicial nominee hearings have come to this. Aggressive dishonest questions to push against or push for a nominee all the while trying to look good for voters but just clearly playing mean partisan politics. There is no reason these hearings have to be like this, they didn't even start like this, the first ones were held privately. But it became public then it became more political and they have Americans being divided further by BS. She is qualified, even if republicans may not agree with her stances on issues, so just vote her in. She was clearly going to win anyway, at least a number of republicans had the professionalism to vote for her.

Not sure what the two men with a baby has to do with cargo ships being piled up though. Men are still allowed paternity leave aren't they? I think this covers non genetic children too such as adoption.

This is the lefts go to, black and female. Their next go to are trannies.

Notice how there are no Asians. To be truly diverse Biden should have nominated an Asian female.

Think deeper about pete. Heres a hint. If u are the guy in charge, u get ur butt back to work, even if by zoom to help fix the cargoship problem. But oh no, he cant be bothered while on maternity leave.

The GOP never made up stories about her. Compared to the made up story about Kavanough. There is a big difference between the way each party questions the opposite nominee.

Think deeper so i dont have to explain things as much.

Asians work harder without complaining or asking for a hand out.

Then the media doesnt have their backs either.

Pete Butedgeedge?
Was there really that much he could do about it? Plus, doesn't he have a second in command for when he goes on vacation? Can't that guy handle the situation just fine or does Pete have some special abilities in this regard?

What democrat senators made up stories about Kavanaugh? They certainly slanted their questions but it was the lady (forgot name) who made the allegations, not congressmen.

Nonetheless, this isn't a whataboutsim, many democrats were dishonest and unfair in their questioning of Kavanaugh, just as many republicans were about Mrs. Jackson. One side's actions doesn't excuse the other here.

If u think the plant of the woman accusing Kav of rape wasnt a DNC plan the entire time, u need to wake up. They rode that gravy train to the bank.

What GOP questions were unfair/dishonest like DNC ones?

Brett is the guy in charge. The buck stops with him. Thats their way to shift blame, "hes on maternity leave, dont bother him". And many bought it, including urself by the way u are responding.

You don't remember Benghazi, apparently, when Obama and Clinton left to get some sleep before Obama traveled to Vegas the next day for a campaign visit?  Four Americans died while they abandoned their posts -- the reasons are irrelevant.

You've obviously never held a job where you were in charge of something vitally important.

There's an old saying:  You can delegate authority, but you can't delegate responsibility.

If the Director isn't there, and the assistant makes the wrong call, it's still the Director's responsibility.

When the SHTF, and the potential harm/damage is threatening to shut down the flow of goods across the country, you don't continue your vacation unless there's absolutely no way to get back to your office.

We spend BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to implement command centers for these people to operate inside of in a crisis.  The systems are not designed for tele-commuting by the person in charge.  Information comes in, it gets analyzed and briefed to the decision makers, and decisions are made & implemented.  If you're out of the office, you're out of the loop.

The second in command is only there for routine work and decisions.  His boss is the one who was appointed.  He's the one given the responsibility to make these critically important decisions.

It might be true that his deputy, assistant, or whatever is more qualified then he is (I would not be surprised at all).  He might be better able to handle these problems and keep the supply chain working.  Great, if everything works out like that.  But, the reality is, when things don't get better, who gets the blame?  One person is responsible.  All the others merely work for him -- they aren't there to do his job for him.

I am not going to debate such a conspiracy theory. In the end the woman made the claim. Maybe the DNC helped her get there and get attention but that doesn't prove it was made up or some elaborate plan just to attack Kavanaugh. The DNC may have ridden the train gleefully but that doesn't prove anything but that politicians will jump on anything that gets attention for them.

If an employee is allowed to take leave, especially one that is federally allowed I can't fault someone for taking that lead, even if he is the head of some department. Now if Pete did a bad job at picking/training his 2nd in command then sure, that is on him but I don't believe that him being in the office would have made any significant difference. Instead what this looks like is just a way to make political attacks and many have bought into it.

"Elaborate plan?"  Sixth graders could have concocted a better plan.  They used that woman as a "speedbump" to slow the nomination vote down until after the election.  They didn't care if it was true (and no way to prove it).  They were desperate to stop Kavanaugh at all costs.

The Dems in Congress have shown they are not concerned with the truth, only power.  If the Republicans can be stopped, they'll choose the stupidest plan they have as long as it has a chance.

It's not a conspiracy theory that she never came forward voluntarily.  Only after her accusation was leaked by Feinstein & FBI and her identity was on the verge of becoming public did she make her charges public.  It's so easy to accuse someone of sexual assault if you know you will never have to face the accused, huh?

Quote
In early July 2018, after Judge Brett Kavanaugh was reported to be on Donald Trump's shortlist to become an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, Ford contacted both The Washington Post and her congresswoman, Anna Eshoo.[7] On July 20,[8] eleven days after Trump nominated Kavanaugh, Eshoo met with Ford, becoming convinced of her credibility and noting that Ford seemed "terrified" that her identity as an accuser might become public. Eshoo and Ford decided to take the matter to Senator Dianne Feinstein, one of Ford's senators in California and the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which would deliberate Kavanaugh's nomination.[27] In a July 30, 2018 letter to Feinstein, Ford alleged that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her when both were in high school in Bethesda, Maryland, and stated that she expected her story to be kept confidential.[7][28] In August that year, Ford took a polygraph test that was administered by a former FBI agent, who concluded Ford was being truthful when attesting to the accuracy of her allegations.[7]

Feinstein said that owing to her confidentiality commitment to Ford,[29] she did not raise the issue in the initial Kavanaugh confirmation proceedings.[30] On September 12, The Intercept reported (without naming Ford) that Feinstein was withholding a Kavanaugh-related document from fellow Judiciary Committee Democrats.[31] On September 13,[32] Feinstein referred Ford's letter to the FBI, which redacted Ford's name and forwarded the letter to the White House[7] as an update to Kavanaugh's background check.[33] The White House in turn sent the letter to the full Senate Judiciary Committee.[7]

On September 16, after media reported anonymous allegations and reporters started to track down her identity, Ford went public.[34]

Read my past comment. The guy in charge needs to come back to work. Especially since he didnt push a 7lb baby out. I can understand if he was healing and unable go. But he didnt push.

Guess i expect more from a leader and dont like lame excuses. An absent leader is a weak leader.

And that has no bearing on whether her claims are true or not. People who hated Trump probably orgasmed when they heard the story and they jumped to use it but I am not going to debate the claim Ford just made it up because there isn't enough merit there.

If he were the president sure but his being there would have changed nothing, it would just be a better image. It's an extension of how everyone complains why the other side's president golfs so much. Obama shouldn't golf so much, Trump shouldn't golf so much, its all just a political attack angle in the end.

Agree to disagree I guess.

Glad Trump wasn't golfing when there was a supply shortage, Russian war, etc... Oh wait, these didn't exist during his presidency.

Again you are missing the bigger picture (swoosh), if stuff is hitting the fan, the "boss" needs to come back to work and not use a lame excuse.  I mean even Guy Hagi was out of country when there was a hurricane watch for Hawaii and that was a better excuse for him not being in the studio reporting on it.  And guy doesn't have as easy access to an airplane compared to the head of the transportation department.

What's more motivating to solve a problem, the boss calling you if even he did that or him at your desk demanding what's wrong and how to fix it.
