After my 14 day wait for the handgun permit went in yesterday with about 5 people in line and out in less than 45 minutes. Question: for a private handgun sale do I need to have the person selling it to me meet me at the police station to give me the firearm or is he just supposed to sign the form and mail it in?

You can pick up the gun from the seller at any legal place you are allowed to have a firearm,  then you can take the form and the gun back to HPD to register under your name.  It is up to you, and the seller, what works.

For a private transaction, the seller needs to sign and date the back of your permit to acquire.  You then have 48 hours to take the handgun and the signed permit to HPD to register.  The seller does not have to go with you to PD. 

I'm confused though, is HPD saying 30 round magazines are illegal?

Got there at 9:30. Nobody in line. In and out in 20 minutes.

10:50, 4 guys in the chairs and one at the window then me waiting at the door, no line behind be.

Only about 5 guys ahead of me. Total time from parking to leaving was about 30 minutes. Not too bad.

Long today. 8 people standing in line. Here at 11:15am, just to renew long gun permit. Out at 11:40am. Not bad but it was renewal

Today is packed. No parking. Line to the door and wrapping inside. 

In and out 20minutes,  permit pickup.  Registration will take much longer..... 

5 people inside, 1 person in line.

No one in line in the last 10 minutes

Here at 7:50 plenty garage parking.  No one inside office.   Renewed permit out at 8:05

In at  2:50pm out at 3:05pm. Did Handgun permit and renewed longgun permit.

@0925, 3 front parking stalls open, No line, 3 people filling forms... 

In at 10 out at 1015...permit pickup

Went to register one day at 03:25.  Door closed.

Now that the big rushes are over HPD is still not staying open.  Gotta love those guys in civil service, no matter what they do, they always try to reduce their workload.

4 people inside, 6 people in line.
