I'll have to get in that line to register either today or tomorrow. I'm already ready to go out and do it today but I'm waiting for the traffic to die down.

After this one I'd probably wait a while before buying my 1911. I wonder if I should just run over somewhere to buy a shotgun and register it today too lol
Might as well since you're going to be standing in line anyways.  That's what I was thinking of doing to spread the time waiting over more guns.   ;D

Good luck and take an umbrella or rain gear.  Looks like a nasty one out there.

I'll end up back on here saying my wife kicked me out and all I have to sleep with is my new shot gun.

I'm watching this with great sadness becuase I see it possibly happening here in Colofornia with our new Speaker of the House being a pretty lefty person, and with the House itself now controlled by Democrats.

In addition, our lefty-Demmy Governor Hickenooper just starting making noises about additional gun controls for the State.  He had previously been sorta not "pro-" gun, but not rabidly "anti-," either.  I guess he decided he'd better toe the party line a little more closely if he wants to run for Senator someday.  Which I am sure he does.

Bless you all for overcoming any of your infringements.

I really feel for you. <snif>  (Not a sarcastic snif, but a real one, with a tissue to my nose and everything.)

Some LGS's are willing to hold your purchase for you.  I bought an AK from Young Guns just before Christmas and they offered to hold it for me until the lines die down.  Tony at Gun Source offered the same thing too.  At Young Guns I did all the paperwork and paid in full and they just tagged it with my name and put it in their vault.  I've been down a couple of times to cuddle with it and take pictures so I could start looking for upgrades.

I'm hoping that by the end of this month the wait time is down to only an hour or so.

I got there about 9:40am and was able to park out front at the last space closest to the doors. Right when I got in line to leaving was about 1.5-1.75 hours. Met some cool guys, and the dude behind me watched my rifle and held my spot, I returned the favor. He also had enough quarters to change my $1 bill.

The guy in front of me registered 4 handguns, 2 shotguns and 4 rifles, all out of state.

Yup, Tony is very helpful and accomodating to his customers.
Makes sense to wait till most are back to work.

I have to go tomorrow morning after work to pick up my renews long gun permit. I hope they send out an officer to call for pickups only.

They did that a few times while I was there.

Just before I got in the main firearms door an officer passed out the forms to register firearms to a few guys behind me.

I flew in from Cali on Wed Jan 2 and arrived at the station at 1:00pm to register my out of state guns.  There were 6 people between me and the double doors.  I was done at 3:20pm with 5 firearms registered.  I thought Cali laws sucked! HPD was so backwards and unorganized.  There was a hand written sign stating if you were doing out of state transfers and you weren't in by 330pm you're S#!7 outta luck.  good thing i barely made it.

There was an officer pulling ID's from the line every 20 mins for permit pickups.  That was the only thing that made sense.   :shaka:

California sucks worse than Hawaii.

There's no stupid bullet button crap here.

You don't have to consult a list to see what guns you can buy,

You don't have to pay DROS fees.

Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
