So Synopsis:
Shooter shot thru locked doors that had a glass window. She entered thru that to enter.
Within about a minute while the shooter is still in the lobby, the active shooter alarms went off.
Cops arrived 14 mins later or so.
The cop that killed the shooters bodycam is online. He wasted no time to enter the school. Maybe about a minute after arriving on scene at most. And no shots were heard at this time yet.
He got the keys from a staff member outside and asked for 3 more cops to join him.
They then proceeded to clear the closest unlocked classrooms to that entrance. They got about 3 done when shots were heard in a diff part of the building.
They then stopped room clearing and headed toward the gunfire, which was upstairs.
Shooter neutralized.
Training points:
Of course as a keyboard QB and going from memory
Good:
Immediate entry/command taken, unlike Uvalde who cops hung back even though shots were heard 60 feet from their line of sight.
Manipulation of the AR holders safety lever.
Use of WML when needed (dark area of what looked like a single toilet restroom inside a classroom)
Rear security provided and that cop was focused on it. Not looking over his shoulder inside the room to see what's going on.
1 cop was uniform, 1 was plain clothes, and 1 was more tactical gear (but no rifle). So for 3 who looks like wouldn't train at the same time together, all knew what to do.
After shooter is down, plain clothes cop mentions to watch the other side, in case there's more than 1
Improvements (nit picking)
When the rifle holding cop took his rifle out, he didn't immediately chamber a round. I would have chambered it as soon as it's taken out of the rifle bag. He waited until he got the keys to the front door.
He also didn't do a press check on his rifle. I would have tugged on the mag to make sure it's seated well and checked to make sure I got a round in the chamber. And again, all done as soon as the rifle is removed from the bag, before I even close the trunk of the SUV.
Upon entry to the schools main door, the shotgun wielding cop went first. There is a long corridor and if he had bird shot and had to engage from 40 yards away, that's not effective. Even buck shot wouldn't be as effective. Maybe he had slugs, IDK. So with that being said, the rifle cops should have been 1st man. But he also had the keys and unlocked the door so...
Tin foil time:
Not 1 kid or staff was scene by the cops inside the building or classrooms. Granted active shooter training was probably done so locked classrooms most likely had them hiding in the corner. But to have 3 empty classrooms at 10:12AM. It's not like it was lunch time and kids were all in the cafeteria. So where were they? No kids were outside, only had 2 staff outside. 1 looked like he just showed up to work. The shooter went to school there, so why would she not go the the recess yard if it was recess time.
Cops knew the exact location where the gunfire was coming from. After going up the stairs to the 2nd floor, they bypassed all the rooms. Gun fire echo's big time in a building so to assume it came from 1 precise location raises eye brows.
Names and age of those killed were posted quickly compared to other active shootings victims name release.
Video that was released of the hallways from entry shows zero people in the area. And cops bodycams also show no one besides the 2 outside.
The 2 who were outside, there's an active shooter. What a great idea to wait right outside the entrance to the school, instead of getting out of dodge. We're they planted there?
Since there were 3 kids and 3 staff and no others wounded mentioned, where were these 6 people? It doesnt' sound like it was a classroom she entered. How often are 3 kids and 3 adults grouped together. Exception is a special ed class. The main office could be a possibility, but again to go from the entrance and see no one else on the way to that main office is not happening.
