The rule change is why I posted my comment -- since the discussion moved toward speculation as to the reasoning behind the change.  I was giving my personal experiences in case others have not yet tried mounting steel targets to wooden frames and why the rules make no sense (shouldn't have to spell that out to most people).

Hmm something doesn't look right at first glance.  That target frame diagram is not to scale at 60".
I feel like I'm looking at this.

I’m going on Saturday 11:10 appointment. Target height is “requested” not required and I don’t have the time to build to one to honor their “request” therefore I’ll use my frame that is built to the  KHSC specs that were in effect prior to all this bullshit.

The dims on the wood to build the frame states 60" to 80".  So, how will the center of the lowest target be at 60" if the frame is only 60" in length, not accounting for the few inches that go in the ground.  Something does not add up . . .

Can we set up swinging wood one-time use unless it was a rough day targets ? 
At least it would be reactive.
Can we still use the steel legged frame holders that hold the wood target frame on top as well ?
Steel swingers are held by a cotter pin. Not to hard to drill a wood swinger for that.

you dont need to make a new target stand. just staple an extra long piece of cardboard to the top of your existing stand. or screw a piece of plywood.
