Hard to find new vehicles with a manual tranny anymore. I remember with my Scion it was $700 cheaper with a manual transmission.

of course. with a Pro 5.0 short throw shifter, and Centerforce dual friction clutch. its like I'm leg pressing 50 lbs each time I press the clutch. clutch is either on or off, not much play. it functions better when you let it out fast, otherwise there is clutch chatter.  good fun when you have to stop going up hill
in traffic its like getting a left leg workout   :geekdanc:
I had a spec stage 3 in my 2000GT that was even heavier
My other Mustang and other cars are all auto. much better in traffic
but I enjoy driving the 5 speed manual.  sure, in a drag race you will never out shift an auto, but something just old school and raw with the manual transmission.  I think for road racing and drifting the manual is better, for drag race auto is better
if you got a Porsche or Ferrari or GT500 or something like that, you better get it manual transmission

My ex was born in DC and raised in Maryland.  I went to Maryland to visit her a few times before I graduated.

She drove a Ford Capris with a manual T, and when i visited, she'd left me drive her car on nights that she waitressed.

If you've ever been in gridlock traffic driving a stick, you'll curse your choice every quarter mile as you constantly shift from 1st to 2nd then back to 1st, then coasting to a stop and keeping the clutch depressed until you move again .  Many times, you wind up needing to work the clutch with the right foot -- your left is just too tired.

If you think that's bad, try a 1960-ish school bus with 3 speed manual (almost never used 1st), governed at 35MPH and driving for almost 2 hours on a busy 2-lane state highway.

Oh, the drivers following me who were pissed off!  If there is a hell, I'll be stuck driving behind that bus for eternity!   :shake:

Back about 50 years ago, I used to ride the smaller blue city bus from Papakolea up Tantalus down to Bishop Street.
Those had manual transmission and plenty hills. Both up and down and mahus with tight jeans and tube tops too.
Sometimes the tranny sound like it slipping and get smoke coming from under the back seat.
The back seat would get pretty hot when the bus was struggling to go up the hill.
We called them the blue cockaroaches..
