BTW, Fetterman has no "physical disability" that requires comfortable clothing.  That has become his trademark, and he's milking the stroke for sympathy so he can continue dressing as he chooses.

He wore a suit when he attended freshman orientation.  No limitations kept him from dressing appropriately when he needed to (the rules required it).

I wonder if Joe Manchin wore a hoodie and shorts would Chuck Shumer allow it.

In my opinion Chuck Shumer is a puke.

No respect for the institution.

Lack of a dress code in school is one reason kids act all tarantaran in school.

When I was going to school 1955 to 1968, girls had to wear a dress or skirt and blouse.  Guys had to wear long pants and a collared top.

Teachers could also give you cracks for misbehaving.  Today they cannot even talk harshly to the kids.

This is why so many young people lack respect for authority.

Only person who should be allowed to wear a hoodie in the WH or like offices would be BIll Bellucec. (Patriots head coach). IIRC, he wore a suit when visiting the President.

Although the standard has been eased for senators, both visitors and staffers
are still obliged to comply with the traditional dress code and wear business-
appropriate clothing.

Typical Democrat elitism:  Rules for thee, but none for me.

If anything, the staffers would benefit more from dressing comfortably, since they do most of the "leg work" for the Senators.  All the Senators do is sit for hearings, cast a vote now and then and pose for photos when told.

I wasn't really buying that explanation but I figured better to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I have no idea whether mentally he is sharp as a tac or if he is as bad as when he tries to talk. His back story doesn't inspire any confidence though.

I remember getting swats in front of the whole class.  Third grade, California.
As for dress codes Vietnam war protests killed that one off.  Kids figured out that they got their way
if they threw a fit collectively.
Democrats still do it to this day.

Hawking reference was a joke.

This senator had a stroke or something that makes it challenging to answer questions on the spot or think on his toes. He can understand what hes being asked and can make a coherant response, but it might take time to accomplish. This was mention when he was asked why he doesnt take part in debates often.

So of all the options for a leader, this was their best. Its not like he has a long history of doing good things in the private sector that this overlooks his mental state.

For the good of the people, his state, and this country, HE SHOULD QUIT.

I may sound cruel but at the very least, he should offer to do so and if his constituents still want him to serve then so be it.

But I'm very sorry that he suffered his unfortunate stroke.

According to the news, there was a mass search on Google for "How do I change my vote" after the debate he was in.  People who voted early/by mail changed their minds after seeing how impaired he actually is -- in contrast with how the media portrayed him.

Given his post-stroke impairment and the post-election depression, and now the refusal to follow the rules of the job he worked so hard to get, I'd be surprised if he could be elected today.

He doesn't act like the type of person who understands how lucky he is -- not even trying to earn the honor he was handed by the voters.

His voters were lied to, and were it not for early voting, i think the results would have been -- not him.

More things at work here than only dumb voters ... but that's probably why the other things were effective, too.

I think all the Republican Senators need to show up in Pro-Life, Pro-Gun and Pro-Trump attire.

See how many Democrats get triggered.

If you don't believe me when I post that Fetterman has no physical disabilities requiring comfortable clothing,
maybe you can believe Fetterman ...

...  and Fetterman's doctor.

This is from October, just before his election.

U.S. Senate candidate Fetterman releases
doctor letter saying he is OK

Quote
Democratic U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman of Pennsylvania released a
doctor's letter on Wednesday that said he was recovering well from a stroke and
has no work restrictions.

Fetterman, the Pennsylvania lieutenant governor who faces Republican celebrity
doctor Mehmet Oz in November's election, has gradually returned to the campaign
trail in recent months after suffering a stroke in May that he said nearly killed him.

"Overall, the Lt. Governor is recovering well from his stroke and his health has
continued to improve," Dr. Clifford Chen wrote in a letter released by Fetterman's
campaign.

Chen said Fetterman "continues to exhibit symptoms of an auditory processing
disorder which can come across as a hearing difficulty," Chen said, adding that
the candidate's communication has improved significantly.

Oz, a television doctor endorsed by former President Donald Trump, has raised
questions about Fetterman's health as the Nov. 8 election approached. The closely
watched Pennsylvania race will help determine whether President Joe Biden's
Democrats hold onto their razor-thin margin in the U.S. Senate.

Fetterman has attended speech therapy since the stroke, takes medication to prevent
future strokes and can walk four to five miles without difficulty, Chen wrote.

Chen said in the letter that Fetterman is committed to maintaining good fitness and
health practices. "He has no work restrictions and can work full duty in public office,"
the doctor said.

And this guy was choking back tears and sobs as he tells of his difficulties administering his duties as a senator.

Cry me a river.  Go on.  Knock yourself out, senator.

Thanks for chiming in, but I was addressing at least one forum member who always gives the other side the benefit of the doubt.

I'm blocking him again, or else i would have quoted his post where he said,

"I wasn't really buying that explanation but I figured better to give him the benefit of the doubt."

it takes no time to find sources that answer these questions, like "does Fetterman have any physical disability," but the laziness in them waits to be spoon-fed by the rest of us.  Too bad they form (and post) opinions with easily-searched holes in their knowledge.  Just makes for never ending arguing.
