If my son got the size of our house wrong by a factor of 3 I would say he can claim ignorance. If someone who prides themselves on a real estate mogul got the size of the house wrong by a factor of 3 I call BS. That is not a level of ignorance I think he gets to claim.

So you are comparing horsepower on an engine to the area of a rectangle? Talk about poor examples.

Like I said, if he simply came out and said an aid filled out the form wrong and Trump missed it then at least that is believable, but the "I don't know how to measure, I am not trained to use a tape measure" type excuse just insults our intelligence. I mean even if you like Trump that is an objectively bad defense.

Again, swooosh. You missed the point.  What I'm getting at isn't an aide filled out the form wrong, is that unless Trump himself measured the property, then he could be off and would be charged for another witch hunt.  Then the fact that the underwriters for the loan didn't question it or go measure themselves. And yet they're certifying that the info is accurate and yet no "fraud" charge for any underwriter/lender.

What my HP example is that you are not seeing is on paper, something can say X, but in reality until physically measured, it will be something else.    And many times, things aren't acutally physically measured by said person.

And again, this is another witch hunt now focusing on dotting "i's" and crossing "t's".

Thanks for playing.

speaking of properties, a sea wall is OK'd for Obama's property in Waimanalo but North Shore residents get daily fines just trying to save their property

Seawall = waves bounce off and carry away the sand
Imagine paying that much money for beachfront just so you can stumble down slippery stairs and bang your toe on coral heads

So bascially anyone can just claim whatever square footage they want and later claim ignorance because they didn't measure themselves they would be immune to prosecution? No one would ever be convicted if such a defense worked.

If an underwriter failed to do due diligence in measuring the property that doesn't release Trump from all criminal liability. If you sold me a fraudulent art piece and I failed to get it inspected by an expert that doesn't mean you didn't commit a crime. Maybe in a civil trial asking for damages but not in a criminal trial.

Now if I said my house was 1525 square feet and it was 1515 square feet then sure, that is a reasonable mistake and prosecuting such would be an egregious use of the justice system. But if I said it was 15,000 square feet when it was 5,000 that is not such a reasonable mistake.

So ur saying theres a "grace" number given. What is this official number that you think there is? Once u provide this number, we will apply it to how much Trump was off and then determine if fraud was committed.

Then apply this same judgment to everyone who approved the loan cause they too agreed to the figures used.

Cause others agreed to it as well.

Curious why you think the underwriter/lender would have committed fraud?  What would they have to gain by overvaluing a property that a borrower is using as collateral?

Lenders benefit by approving very large loans.  Bank makes more money as do the employees who bring in the big clients.

As long as the borrower doesn't default and pays as agreed, the bank is happy and prosperous.

As for underwriters, the more a property is worth, the higher the coverage needed to insure it.  Insurance is a requirement for borrowing against the property.

The higher the value of the property, the higher the premiums for the insurance company and bonuses for the salesman.

So someone here didn't answer what's the "grace number" for being off on square footage.  Because the example of going over the speed limit whether 1mph over or 10mph over, both are still illegal.  Today during the Rahimi SCOTUS hearing, the DOJ argued that anyone who breaks the law (in general) is no longer law abiding citizen and should lose their 2a right as they are no longer part of "the people" in the Bill of Rights.  They were then asked what about someone who goes 30mph in a 25mph zone.  Would they also lose their 2A right under the DOJ's agreement?

Another point in the trial, Bidens pick (Jackson) asked the DOJ if there was any laws back then about domestic violence as she thought those law didn't exist.  Well, guess she didn't bother to read the amicus briefs that specifically addressed this, that there were laws.  Guess this is what happens when someone gets the job due to the color of their skin and gender.

There is no grace number. I already pointed you to the reasonableness standard to address questions like this.

Someone asking for a grace number sounds like someone trying to get out of trouble for something they know they did wrong.

So what # is it reasonable to be off by?

This is whats refered to as a grace number im asking for. As any # not the  correct sqft would be wrong.

The judge and prosecutor were way off on their estimate, which is what makes this trial an obvious political hit job

Reasonable is pretty obvious.   If you are off by a zero or two that's not reasonable.   100mil property vs 1bil. 2ksqft house vs 20k. Etc.

So is off being by up to 9 reasonable?  As being off by 10 adds a zero.

let's see if those people who posted how trump was lying and committing fraud will admit that the judge and prosecutor were wr-wr-wr-wrong...

I don't think you can set a specific number and draw the line. It is a case by case basis looking at the totality of the circumstances.

How many rounds can you shoot at someone in self defense before it turns to murder?

I think exaggerating the size or a property by a factor of 3 is way beyond reasonable. If you think that is reasonable then we disagree.
