Place ur entire ammo bankroll on black for roulette and double up. Then parlay. No need worry about ammo prices.

I always bet on black when playing roulette.  And I do parlay!  Sometimes it works well but most times I get killed.

I going end of December. :shaka:

I hear some casinos are now using wheels with triple zeros.

The house edge with a single green zero spot is 2.7%. With a double zero on the wheel, the house edge nearly doubles to 5.26%.

With triple zero, or sometimes referred to as the Logo spot, the house has a 7.69% edge.

Basically, the higher the house edge, the harder it is for the player to win that game.

In comparison, craps can have a house edges of close to zero (about 0.00081%) if you mostly play the pass line with 3x-4x-5x odds bets.

In other words, you can predict you'll walk up to a triple zero roulette wheel with $1000 and walk away with $923.10.

With craps at the right odds betting, you'll walk away with $999.99.

Mathematically speaking, that is.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I play roulette only because my wife loves to play it.  Yes, I will do my best to steer her away from triple zero roulette.  We haven't found a single zero game so far.  I've heard when it is offered the minimum bets are very high.

Craps is my go-to game however I'm so sick of how Vegas lately has raised minimums and practically nickel and dimed everything from gambling to food to resort fees, etc. etc.  Kinda bums me out so I'm not as excited about Vegas as before.  Only reason I'm going end of this year is because of the traditional grandkid turns 21 thing.  I still like to go to Vegas but it's a more relaxed and subdued attitude than the go like hell regimen of my younger days.

Anyway, I'm off topic so I'll stop so we can get back to regular programming. :stopjack:

I do check out ammo while in Vegas and will buy a box or two of defensive ammo that I haven't seen, heard of, or tried.  (Or if good price).

For me, I used to try to have enough ammo or reloading components to last 5 years worth of trips to kokohead.

I was hoping a 5 years supply should last thru any shortage and make it thru to the next period when prices normalized

This was before Covid, BLM, Ukraine and Hamas

Now I’m thinking that when prices come down a bit, I’m going to extend my supply to last 8 years, especially for 12 ga trap loads and 22lr since that is what I mostly shoot.

For the calibers, I don’t shoot much, I try to have
9mm - 4 boxes of hollow points (about 80 rds), 1-2k of FMJ, 2k of reloading components
40sw - I buy a lot if cheap.  I have Glock 23’s with 9mm conversion barrels.  I can switch to 40 if all my 9mm runs out.  Stores never run out of 40sw
223 - 1-2k of fmj, 2k of reloading components
12ga slugs - I buy a lot if cheap, not for HD or hunting but for friends/family to have fun.  I think of it as “cheap” fireworks/entertainment
Hunting rifle calibers - 6 boxes (120 rds)

One thing that is good about overstocking more than what we typically use, we got to go to the range more since it was less crowded when there were shortages.  Almost no queue at trap

Even if you go to KHSC once a month and shoot 100 rds, it still is a case of 1000 in a year.

So some people will say what da hell are you buying a case of ammo for?

When you think of it, it's really not that much.  So if the price is good, buy as much as you can.

If you keep buying but don't shoot, then that don't make sense.  But if you shoot, you need to be on the look out for deals and when there is an impending shortage, there will be no deals.

So if can, can.  (buy.)

If no can, no can.  (you missed the boat.)

My kids are all growed up now, so going shooting is a major source of entertainment for me, so I try to go every week.

At a hundred rnds per week, that makes 5000 rnds per year.

For pistol calibers that i shoot regularly ( or at least used to) and 5.56/.223 for range use, I typically only buy by case.  If anyone has any questions why I "need" to buy by the case, well, tell me why I can't or shouldn't.  Personally, I don't buy with intention of selling later for a profit.  If someone else does stockpile with intent to profit later, up to them.  Sucks for people who get caught with their pants down during the low/slim times, but that's life in general.

The last cases I bought was precovid from Kaleo Arms. 9mm was $189 and 223 was $300. Both Armscor

Oooh.  I wish we still had those prices.  Now the 223/5.56 run mid $500.00 per case and 9mm about $300?  And I think those prices will be short-lived and will go up but who knows.

But I don't think they ever will go down to the prices you paid pre-covid.

Yep.  A hundred rounds per range session doesn't sound like much but it adds up to cases a year.  That's why my friend (anti-2a) thinks I'm a murderous gun nut when I tell him I buy by the case but he no understand.

All of the 223 ammo I own was bought in 2014 when I bought my first AR15. During the peak Covid ammo shortage when someone was willing to buy FMJs for 75 cents a round when none of the stores in Hilo had any, I sold him a 1000 rounds to fund another firearm purchase.  I got about 500 FMJs and 100 JHPs left, which is more than sufficient for me.  I don’t target practice shooting my AR.  I may shoot 2 or 3 rounds every 6 months or so to make sure it is zeroed in.  Despite rarely shooting it, I was still able to kill 2 pigs with 3 shots from 75 ft.  The 2nd pig was running when I shot it.  For those who don’t know, a wild pig can run up to 30 mph, faster than most dogs and jump over a 3 ft high fence.

Came in batches of 420rds count and was like $440 or so.  They also had a 1K case that was just under $1100.

Just out of curiosity I checked prices online on the two popular calibers.

9mm hasn't changed much.  Still about $300 per 1K.  Some brands even advertised a lower price than last week.  About $10-$20 cheaper per case.

5.56/.223 is a different story.  From mid $500 per case it's close to $600 now.  And many brands are over $600.  That's compared to last week prices.

Consider the fact that manufacturers can't export gun and ammo to most foreign countries for at least 90 days.

Do the manufacturers reduce production, or do they now market those products domestically.

If they want to keep sales numbers up, they will likely be increasing domestic supplies of guns and ammo.

Increased supply coupled with what's looking like increased demand (people anticipating another shortage) routinely means prices will remain stable.  If demand begins to decline, prices may very well drop before the export ban is relaxed or lifted.

Just sayin'.

Manufacturers would have to sell it domestically as wages still have to be paid while supplies and equipment cost money when they sit idle.

They have to weather the storm and hope the 90 days doesnt get extended.

Gov is using 90 cause no one will sue due to the time it gets to court, almost pau.

i don't think it's "most" countries
all the reports i've seen say it is only certain countries...

they are trying to make sure that the US and allies are supported first...
