As a result of one study, whose authors even say that other studies be done using other techniques. It’s a data point, but not a particularly strong one, and fraught with “correlation vs. causation” issues.
I’m not saying that antidepressants are without risk, but I haven’t seen enough evidence to even start to form an opinion.
YOU asked for a study. Now you say "it's only one study." Are you serious?
Did you even bother to read my previous post? I repeated the excerpt because it appears you ignored it completely.
BTW, unless you are a medical professional with special training in psychotropic drugs and their clinical trials, your opinions hold no water.
YOU asked for the data. I provided data. Now you want to argue as if your opinion is so precious you won't even decide without some arbitrary minimum number of studies.
The people trying to ban guns include "suicides" in the category "Gun Violence." Most statistical studies on gun violence don't differentiate between the two except as a footnote.
You're basically arguing that suicide is not violence. How is that even logical when the mass shooters more often than not either kill themselves right after, let the cops kill them willingly (suicide by cop) or commit suicide when they realize it's a matter of time before they are caught. You can't logically separate the mass shooting from suicidal tendencies unless the outcome results in the shooter turning themselves in rather than be caught by LE and possibly shot.
According to the Violence Project website, 31% of mass shooters were suicidal prior to the attack, 40% became suicidal during the attack, and 59% died on the scene.
Again, separating suicidal tendencies from an increase in violent thoughts is not supported by the evidence.
Mass shootings are public spectacles of violence intended as final acts.
Whether it’s self-inflicted, or comes at the hands of police officers, or after
life in prison, a mass shooting is a form of suicide.
Traditional preventive measures like increased armed security or harsh
criminal sentences will do little to stop them.
https://www.theviolenceproject.org/key-findings/Is it really your belief that someone with new suicidal thoughts is possibly experiencing side effects from the psychotropic drugs,
but it's not JUST AS LIKELY that someone with thoughts of mass murder or other acts of violence are also experiencing drug side effects?
