No need to worry, the police will save our children.

Kealoha: Police are prepared if similar incident happened here - http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/183574501.html?id=183574501
Hawaii public schools review security; counseling available during break - http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/183590381.html?id=183590381

I wonder what their plan is?  I think a reasonable police response would be to confront a shooter within 1 minute after the first shot.  Do they plan on posting a police officer or armed guard in every school?  I think that's what they do in Isreal.

Another thing you never see statistics on when it comes to homicides is how many of them were on drugs.

I believe a ban is coming. Too many of these incidents happening in a short period of time lately and I would imagine Obama is getting pressure from Anti-gun supporters to push for an AWB. As if he needs any extra ammo for something he wants to do in the first place but now he can more easily justify why he is doing it. JMHO
I don't think so, honestly.  The ban got through in 94 because too many gun owners didn't care about black rifles.  Take my uncle, for example.  Naturally, he wasn't a fan of the AWB, but he prided himself on being a hunter and a precision shooter.  ARs were for hillbilly, half-assed militiamen in his mind, so he didn't really have a dog in the fight.  The ban went down, then expired, and nowadays he has about $3,000 sunk into a precision benchrest AR.  I think lots of other guys are the same way; the AR market has exploded, and the antis won't be able to divide the tacticool guys from the Fudds, because the line is so blurry.  You've got ARs in every flavor under the sun, and a lot of them have become beloved varmint or deer rifles.

Also, the Republicans still control the House, so that's money in the bank for us, and although the Dems have got the Senate sewed up, they don't necessarily have anti-gun legislation in the bag.  Montana's two Senators are both Democrats, for example, but they'd be tarred and feathered if they voted for an AWB.  Obama can be a real pain in the ass if he directs the BATFEIEIO to start flexing its muscles on some of the "sporting purposes" bullshit, but I don't think he'll get anything very odious past Congress.

I really hope you're right and only time will tell but Obama always seems to weasel his way around what everybody thinks is not possible one way or another. But the good news is your uncle is a AR fan now.

I dunno how long the general public will put up with this, as it getting more common now. Then again my co-workers ask if the world would end at the end of the the year. My answer to those questions may or may not, but believe me there are lot of  mess up people out there that make sure it happens and its been happening now for quite some time, because in their sick minds their world has ended so they want everyone else to suffer.

Always leads down to this two arguments...
Pro-gun crowd--- if more law abiding citizens was armed they would  act. and prevent these atrocities
Anit-gun---Ban all guns so they won't have anything to shoot :-/

Either way things keep going the way it is its not gonna be good .......

Israel is a constant war zone. Here in Hawaii once everything subsided after X amount of time they will just trade HPD officer with  a minimum wage monkey in a suit. Money talks. You know what will be cool if they hire Blackwater for security lol,
