So tonight it is something I like to eat every 1000 years or so.

Sauerkraut with smoked polish sausages, carrots, and gold potatoes.

Supposed to use red potatoes but the ones at Times looked like shiite.

Saute the sausages then add the sauerkraut and let the juices from the sausages flavor the kraut then add carrots and potatoes, cover with a lid and steam until the potatoes are cooked.  I add a bit of soy sauce to the kraut to help it along.

Side note:  Longs has Spam on sale for $3.29 a can if you can call that a sale.  But they also have this Libby's canned Luncheon Meat on sale for $1.79.  Never tried this before so I bought one and it's not bad for $1.79.

What I did was fry in a pan and burnt one side black as midnight.  Eat with hot rice.  Yo mout weel broke.

Screw the A1c.  Because it will hit da roof.

I like sauerkraut and bratwurst bc I'm half German 🇩🇪
Usually just saute brat with some butter and put on a bun with the kraut with mustard

Today I want to make Bulalo.  Filipino Beef Shank Soup dish.

I looked for recipes on the internet and the variations are many, depending if it would be Ilocano style, Visayan style, or Tagalog style.

I will follow the Tagalog style and put my own individual spin on it.  It calls for pieces of corn on the cob, won bok cabbage and bok choy cabbage.  I plan to use mustard cabbage, add sweet corn kernels instead of the corn cob, and blanched peanuts (like they put in ox-tail soup).

Beef shanks used to be pretty cheap.  Now, like everything, they are getting expensive.

But ainokea.  I have the cravings so I'm gonna make it tonite.

Corn beef brisket.
It was on sale so I had to grab it.
It's too much for dad, so half will go to my son.

Tonight I going make simple chicken long rice.  Was eating too much pork and beef.  Last night we had leftover beef stew and I pan fried Costco pork belly that I marinated in a soy based garlic and ginger infused marinade.

Broke da mout.  The blood sugar monitor when broke too. ;)

We like to eat that Japanese bread.

I saw this "Onion Spaghetti" recipe on Yoo Toob.  Cook the onions (lots of it) until caramelized then add cream, and some parmesen cheese.  The usual garlic and olive oil and parsely.

I dunno.  Maybe I go make that and put my own spin on it.

Re. Japanese stuff
My dotter used to work at several local Japanese type bakeshops so she introduced me to Japanese style foods. Generally they are not as sweet as American food. Right now she is living in Germany learning about how great German beer is.

BRUG Bakery at the Ala Moana Shopping Center has Japanese baked goods.  They got interesting pastry like stuff and they add hot dog or sausages.

There is a Na Goya Ramen place in Mililani that also sells Japanese baked sweets.  Not sure if it is a BRUG outlet or something similar.  My wife likes to go there and buy their stuff.  Kinda expensive but what isn't nowadays.

One pastry type item had sweet corn kernels embedded into a custard type filling.

Interesting but kinda throws me off.  My mind cannot figure out if I'm eating a sandwich or a pastry.

Agree that their pastries and their desserts for that matter are not as sweet as western counterparts.  Kinda subtly sweet.

Dotter just called from Germany. They are about to get on a plane to make the long trip back here. She said she worked at Brug bakery near Kahala mall. Also L' palm D'or at Ala moana and Aloha State Bakeshop, but that place is semi-closed.😢
She said she wants to go Zippys when they get back.🤣

Saw a vid:

Shin Noodle packet.

Grate garlic
Add in the powder
Add in chili pepper flakes
Add in some hot oil you heated up on the stove.

Cook noodles and drain water and put in cold water/ice to make it cold.

Add Sprite and some black chinese vinegar to the mixture you made.  Then add in the noodles.

This is a viral thing going on and youtubers who are foodies tried it and love it.

I will have to try it soon.  I have no Sprite, chili pepper flakes, black chinese vinegar.
