I think individually owned casinos would benefit visitors better.

But I dunno.  Derek Stevens who owns the D, Circa, and Golden Gate Downtown went to 100% electronic table games at the Golden Gate location.

I really think Vegas would suck big time if all the properties went to 100% electronic table games.

Profits would soar but people would have to come for it to be a reality.

If Vegas ever did away with table games, I would stop playing and not go.

The worst thing for me going to Vegas is the damn plane ride.  Yeah, if Vegas did away with table games I wouldn't go either.  Vegas is making it harder and harder to justify sitting in a steel tube 35,000 ft. in the air for more than 5 hours.

At least with table games with people manning them we can joke, talk story, and have fun shooting the BS to each other while I lose my a$$.

This is 1 downside to living in HI, it cost a lot and a lot of air time to go anywhere on vacay.  I've been to Vegas on the 3 day weekends and it's common for people from CA to drive over.  1 tank of gas is all that it cost. Versus a $500-$800 plane ticket. 4.5 hours or so each direction.  I've also seen people just driving on a friday night after work and then drive back home on sunday evening back to CA>

Based on experience around Biloxi, lots of people who drive a couple of hours probably don't get a room if it's just late Friday thru Sunday afternoon/evening.  They either have a fiend that lets them crash at their place, or they catch some z's in their car before driving home.  if you are going in a group, the passengers can sleep during the trip and switch off driving.

Or...
You can do a round trip between Vegas & LA for less than $60, and it's about an hour and fifteen minutes to Vegas (not including check-in & clearing security).

This flight is less that $5 plus almost $49 in taxes and fees  Total is $53.29 round trip from LA to Vegas, Vegas to Orange County

Recently, I've been noticing more side bets.

Example:

Craps
Precovid-Fire Bet, ATS was very rare.
Post Covid-ATS at almost every casino now
Within the past year-Hard all day (Paris) If you hit all the hards before a 7, it pays out like 250:1, Ellis Island's 5:1 place hard ways that only clear if a 7 is rolled. So easy 6 or easy 10 and your place bet hard stays up, but it pays less than the normal hardways.  El Cortez has a side bet where you need to roll the number X times and you win good payouts before a 7 comes.  IDK what this is called.  So you need to roll a 6; 6 times and you get paid like 120:1 odds.  The 2, 2 times and you get paid 80:1 odds.  Stuff like that.

Roulette
Precovid-None
Recently 000, Golden ball, and other types within the past 2 years.
Wynn just pulled their 000 roulette

Blackjack
Precovid-not many
Recently-There's too many to name.

The only side bet that I really enjoy is the ATS on craps.  The Fire Bet isn't as fun.  And I think for ATS, i'm just above even for all my time playing it and winning.  For me, it adds excitement to the game.  Last year Mrs. CMO was throwing the dice and rolled a 7, 7x in a roll.  This killed my $15 ATS bet.  So after she threw her 3rd 7, I began betting $5 on big red.  It pays $35.  So i covered my ATS and made some money.  I wasn't playing the pass line,as I rarely do.

I have also noticed since covid, not as many of the other types of games.  Like the Venetian used to have let it ride open all day, but not so much anymore.  You're lucky to find it open.  Spanish 21 is pretty much not open as often at many casinos.  Crazy for Hearts or Crazy for Poker also I haven't seen at various on strip casinos.  That giant spinning wheel game.

I think this ties into the dealer shortage so they had to reassign to their more popular games like blackjack, baccarat, etc...Then add in they're laying people off.

Yeah, I noticed Crapless Craps and the All Tall/All Small bets at many casinos now.  I guess it gives the gamblers more places to put their money so the house makes more when a 7 comes around.

Also the Roulette wheels in some casinos have a side bet for the "golden" number.  There's an insert with pointers spinning on top of the wheel.  The points will align to random numbers on the wheel.  If you bet on the side layout for those aligned numbers and the ball hits where the arrow points, you win 100X or 200X your wager on the side bet.  That means you need to place bets on the side for where you think the golden pointer will stop -- more money bet per spin = more for the house if you lose.

Here's that roulette table with the side bets at El Cortez.

I enjoy her channel as she does more table games.  She took like a year off cause she's in law school.  She's almost done and now she's back.

Lol, your post piqued my interest so I had to watch the video.  Yes, she's just like my youngest daughter and my grandaughter.

They talk so fast, I give up.  I just tune them out when they are talking amongst themselves and with others in the family when they gather at my house.

I told both of them straight, I don't understand a word they say.  I tell them they remind me of the M-60 machine gun I used to carry back in the day.

My two older daughters I can understand because they talk slower.  It might be because there is a 10 year age gap between my youngest and my 2nd oldest.  My youngest and my grandaughter were born during the valley girl days.

I know.   :stopjack:

Mrs. CMO hates the pitch of her voice, so when I do watch her channel, I have to do it when she's not watching TV and in the other room doing chores or something else.

I like her channel because not many focus on tables games.  Many do slots as that's the easiest to do.

He has a point that the market is adjusting.  Although we aren't back to the precovid Vegas days, casinos are taking steps to lower cost for it's guest.

Just my opinion but I was watching a Vegas food vlog video where the content creator was harping on the fact that the casino offers free parking.

It was somewhere on the Strip.  Anyway the place he was eating at was just a regular mid-tier restaurant but OMG, the prices were crazy.

It was one of my "hmmmmm" moments.  Were the prices high because......... ;D

Amazing that one weekend event can tie up almost the whole month of November as far as traffic woes.

They're scamming the people with F1.  As in saying "we dont' know if the contract will be renewed".  Then later to renew it for X years, then another X years.  IMO, the plan was always to keep F1 here for the 10 years.

Just for an idea of traffic, we took the cut off by Treasure Island heading toward Palazzo parking lot.  It's about 2 blocks.  It took us 30 minutes to go the 2 blocks. This was last thanksgiving Wednesday, so about 4 days after F1.

Yep.  They didn't invest that kind of money to hold races to then decide "Never mind!"

The Governor Lambardo (R) is coming up for re-election.  He's the only reason why anti 2a bills are veto'd.  He veto'd like 6 this year.  NV's senate and assembly (house) are DNC controlled by about 62%.  So they don't have the power to override any veto as they don't have 2/3's majority.

But NV is slowly going more blue as the years pass.
