The best food hall IMO is Resorts World. Clay Pot rice is good and so is the Mischos Taco's.  They even have aqua fresca at Mischo's.  The sushi place in there is average at best, but their grilled salmon musubi is awesome. The Pho place is good and above average.

My wife loves Clay Pot rice.  I'll make a point to visit Resorts World next trip.  I also want to try that Genting Palace buffet.  I heard small, expensive, but good.

Yeah, gotta know when to say when.  The casino is definitely not your friend.  My BIL tends to think so.

Likes to tell us how the casinos are so friendly towards him and the perks they give him.  I do the quick mental math and secretly smile, knowing he paid for his perks many times over.

One time he approached the casino host office to ask for some perks.  They treated him quite rudely (he said) when they told him YOU DON'T QUALIFY.

He was all butt hurt but I know this guy.  It's all how you ask, and they will respond politely either yes or no.  I know how he can be demanding and obnoxious at times.  It's in his DNA.

Keepin on topic, that place when RW opened used hot clay pots, so the rice continues to sear as you eat.  But people began stealing them. So now they're just platic.  But food is still good, it just lost that slight seared crush as you ate.

The Genting buffet looks good too. It's on our list of places to try.

I remember when Tim Hortons switched to paper cups instead of the iconic mugs back in the 1990s. That’s about the time civilization started going downhill.

What's wrong with people.  The clay pots are part of the culture and tradition, not to mention the sear that it creates with the rice that is hard to replicate, maybe cast iron would be a substitute but yeah, definitely not plastic. :grrr:

I still will put this place on my bucket list, along with Genting Palace.  I also saw a short video of China Mama at Palace Station.  Another place I haven't visited and would like to on my next trip.

Derek Stevens seems like a cool guy.  I wish there were more owners like him in Vegas and little or no corporate Vegas like MGM Resorts and Caesars.

We visited it a few months ago. Way overpriced for a palace station restaurant. Chinese food strip prices. I wonder how much cheaper their off strip place is.

We did go to Chinatown on Spring Mountain Rd. and tried the dim sum at one of the more popular Chinese restaurants there.  I forgot the name.  They open at 9am.

For some reason we figured we'd better get there early, before 9am and wait in line just to make sure.  Turned out it was a good idea.  We were second in line and by the time we were seated, the whole restaurant was full.  And it's a pretty decent sized restaurant.  Aside from one other table it looked like the rest of the restaurant were filled with local Chinese residents.

And yes, the price for the dim sum is so much more reasonable.

Last visit to RW was in May for Memorial day.  We were there on the Sunday before at 2pm.  Empty casino. I was the only one on the craps table, 3 card poker, and ultimate holdem.  Slots, maybe had about 7 people playing in the entire place.

BJ table was 2-3 people on the open 2-3 tables they had. High limit area was empty.

So a dying casino.

The food court since covid has been half open, so if you go keep that in mind.  The only places open all the time are the clay pot, taco's, pho, and musubi/sushi place.  Which is fine cause the other places are average.

Mischos Tacos has 2 stands on RW. 1 inside the food hall and 1 outside.  The inside one also has aqua fresca which I enjoy. Both their salsas are very good, green and red. Their elote corn in a cup sucks, so don't bother with that.

RW is a nice place to visit, but I'd never stay there as the gaming energy is low/dead.

The vegan place has a buffet taht looks pretty good. So does Genting Palace.

How I know RW is struggling, I got comp 3 nights.  From the opening, they've been very stingy on comps compared to other properties. I didn't play too much this past May, but got a 3 day comp for the first time.  At most, I would get like a 1 day comp, which we used once to try them out a few years ago.

IDK what their hold is on slots, but everyone we talk to says RW is super tight.  And based on our XP over the years of going there. Whicih would make sense as they need to generate more revenue since they opened during covid and their target market isn't coming (chinese from China).

The stores open retail are dead. The only store we visit is the F1 store. Mrs. CMO bought a $40 purple hat.

Or go to the slot and get a free drink. It will only cost you $200 in play.

I miss seeing her on range days, it was always interesting to see what other purple accessories she acquired since the previous shoot.

Well this is disturbing

Federal agents just raided a Chinese Communist Party biolab in the East Valley. Apparently it was connected to another one that was recently discovered in Fresno.

If Vegas gets attacked by a bio weapon then we have roughly 6.5 hours until the next direct flight brings it here.

So many places in Vegas to easily deploy a biological weapon.

Fremont St. Experience under the Canopy would be a perfect place.

Bellagio Conservatory would be another one.

Resorts World or Fontainebleu?  No.

And def not during shot show as there may be chemical/bio hazard meters on display at a table.

Or let it go inside the air intake, like who they did at the Wuhan market...#nothingisaconspiracy
