Do vehicle registration fees not count?
When people buy a car, majority use the road. So this tax/fee's go to maintain said roads. It's based on the weight of the vehicle as 1 factor.
A standard 4.7% sales tax is fine as everything is taxed by this. But to add an additional tax to a firearm or ammo is bad. By just reading a headline of a bill or what ever, 1 might assume the tax is like a few %. But as Flapp posted, the anti gunners will go well beyond this (670%). Also, not everyone uses the public range who buys guns or ammo often. The roads are generally open 24/7; the range isn't. So there's also the limitation of use of said range.
And as Zipps posted, if tax's are used to fund KHSC, and an additional taxed is used, that place better be state of the art. Not the shithole that it is currently. They also better be more lax on the rules at the bench side.
But in the end, this is nothing more than to penalize legal gun owners and 1 more step to infringing on peoples rights.
