Agreed. I have 3 pmags (2 unopened) for that reason. I use one 30rd pmag and one 10rd of unknown brand at Koko Head. I might get another 10rd mag and leave all my pmags at home but really have no need for more 30rd pmags other than to sell for a profit if I find some cheap ones and laugh at the fools panic buying.
Yep, I'm pretty well set for mags too and have been for years. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer USGI mags...Guess I'm old school that way. But there's just something to be said for a mag that you can bend into shape, refinish, and rebuild over and over. Well at least until it cracks, then I toss'em. However the way things seem to be going, it might be smarter and cheaper to hold on to those too and have them welded.
The only reason I went for some PMAG's last week was because my son is getting his first AR and for some guys who were on duty and couldn't make it. Sad that the profiteers ended up screwing over a kid and great guys who are serving this country.
If i already have the 30rd mags am i already grand fathered in? Or if they have a ban i will have to surrender them?
A new law may or may not have a grandfather clause, so there's no way of knowing. But either way, I really wouldn't worry...mags are not a serialized item so there is really no way to track them. If you need them, buy what you need. No sense stocking up at inflated prices at this point.
