So influencers get paid via how many views they get. I wonder if Elon paid himself? I mean X and Mush are 2 separate entities.
Elon owns the company. The company is no longer publicly traded after Musk bought Twitter, but there are a few banks and investors how own a smaller portion of the company.
Owning interest in the company means, when the company's value increases, Musk's personal wealth goes up, too.
If he monetizes his account on X and sells ad space to an event like the Trump interview, any revenue the account receives goes enriches both the account owner (Musk) and the company itself (again, part of that increases Musk's net worth). Technically, Musk would be double-dipping.
Clicks matter to advertisers. So if the Elon Musk X account is monetized, then the company is paying him for that, then charging that to the platform advertisers -- making the company a fee as well.
You have to delve into whether he monetizes his own account (why wouldn't he?), all the parent and subsidiary holdings which comprise the X family of companies, and other such details. So, I doubt the ansswer to "does Musk get paid for clicks?" is more complicated than that.
