What is your opinion on this topic?
I know most of us as members on this forum own weapons, if there is a ban all registered weapons, this could lead to confiscation by the State /Federal since in Hawaii we all had to register our weapons in the State of Hawaii.
I don't believe long time real/serious gun owners are selling off their guns. It's the hobbyist/profiteering bunch that are jumping in on the panic. A true gun enthusiast, that has spent years building their collection, knows well enough to wait and assess what's going on before doing something drastic. My opinion is: People "giving up" and selling off their stuff, have already given up and have never truly supported the Second Amendment.
A nationwide confiscation of firearms would lead to a civil war.
Keep your guns my friend, you'll need them when the fight begins.
Personally, I'd be careful when using words like "civil war" and "fight". I don't believe anyone wants that.
**Before you get all bent and defensive about it, KK, understand that you were quoted to put things in context. I doubt even you are insane enough to actually want a civil war.

Just a word of caution:
Given the climate of the nation over this topic, we should all be very careful what we post. It doesn't take much for an unscrupulous individual to create an account, post a seemingly innocuous question, then using "off the cuff" extreme responses to suit their goals. Being that this site is: "Hawaii's Firearm, Shooting, and Hunting Community", one might take what an individual says as representative of ALL. Just remember, having someone misquoted or taken out of context can do a lot of damage.
From this topic alone,
they might walk away thinking Hawaii gun owners will disregard the law, are willing to lie to police, and want civil war.
...Not sure about anyone else, but that's far from the idea of gun owners being honest, responsible and law biding citizens.
This is not paranoia speaking, it has happened before and can again. Speak your mind, but exercise caution and restraint is all I'm saying.
